WOW! I thought maybe it was just me but there is one receptionist that is not just beyond rude but puts patients health at risk with her attitude vs. knowledge influenced gate keeping. How is this not being addressed?? I am giving the practice a 3 for not addressing this serious issue but the other staff I have dealt with were great. One bad apple doesn't equal a one star but something needs to to be done with that apple. Opportunity for learning perhaps? Two of us have stated how our health could have been impacted - how many more are there? Unacceptable.

No matter how many times you call they do not answer the phone. Have been trying since they moved from North Street to this location. No luck. The online booking service said I was not in the system even though I was a registered patient at the old location for over a year. Also I notice there is a 5 star since I posted this initially, probably one of the receptionist's friends. How can someone be overworked when they don't answer the phone at all? I

Embarrassingly long waits for phone appointments, rude staff when I can get in touch. My doctor there needs to cure my Diabetes before he can look at anything else. Had appendicitis, nearly killed me, he did not look at that possibility of appendicitis, though my sugars were high for other reasons. Doesn’t seem to care. I know I should be lucky to have anything for a doctor, but this has told me many things about how important my health is.

I have been seeing my GP for quite a while and sincerely appreciate all the work the front desk staff do to assist the patients. I had a difficult discussion with one of the receptionists this morning regarding a missed appointment, but the receptionist kindly called me back after the call ended to apologize and clarify the matter. The staff at this clinic are severely overworked and met with difficult patients daily, so this type of retroactive action was very appreciated.

Not using my name for fear of retaliation from the cruel staff that answer the phones and set appointments. You are supposed to be health care professionals, your empathy is nonexistent as is any semblance of professionalism.Horrible, horrible women to deal with. You should not be in health care.I hope you don't ever need someone to be kind and patient with you and get what you give.

Hasn't been the same since their move to Herring Cove & cannot get through on the phone lines to book an in person appointment. I love my doctor but actually getting through is impossible - phone appointments are frequently made an hour later than the original appointment. I try to book surrounding a lunch hour for myself but often have to rely on Maple to fill a simple prescription.

If this review was based on my dr., it would be 5/5 - couldn't ask for better!I gave a 1 star because it's impossible to make an appointment at this new office. I've called multiple days this week, multiple times, and each time I was on hold for over 30 mins, and then the line would just disconnect.I tried using their special line for pharmacies, and explained what was happening and her only response was well we're answering the phones. Call back."Normally I would go in to make an appointment however the office is closed due to covid.Very frustrating."

I cannot get through on the phone and have called 5 days in a row, 3 times a day. I am put on hold for approx, 20 minutes and then the line is cut suddenly after about that long. No message machine, no online booking or email communication available presently. Extremely frustrating. And Lunch from 11:20- 1:30. Seriously? I realize the Doctors are great and that we don't have enough GP'S in Halifax but the system is definitely broken if you can't even get through to your own family doctor's receptionists for over a week, simply to have the opportunity to BOOK an appointment, let alone hope for that to happen.

Dr bains is a great dr. But when you need to contact their office by phone and you're on hold you get this super loud music loop that just keeps playing a start of an annoying song followed by a recording of a receptionist speaking in a condescending tone over and over again until you get to speak to an actual receptionist who speaks to you in a condescending tone. If they could just get rid of the music that would be so awesome. It's the last thing you want to hear when you're feeling great discomfort. I would gladly change my rating to a 4 star if you could get rid of the loud music. I understand the condescending receptionist tone as I can relate to the the fact they probably deal with lots of cranky people, but for the love of God please stop torturing patients with this loud obnoxious music. Please!
