Canine Minds and Manners Dog Training

Tina and Kristi were knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. We noticed improvements in our reactive dog after the first class. They were always kind and patient to both the dogs and people in the class. This made for a positive training environment. Our dog loved going to the class and is enjoying a happier life because of it. Thank you for your help.

Wow! Just wow! The trainers here are amazing! The classes are small (5 dogs or less), you have your own penned section so you can practice with your pup. The knowledge they have is amazing. Shannon was our trainer and she would always email us after class with what we had gone through, tips and tricks too, and if you had questions she would always answer promptly! We have personally learnt so much about how to use positive reinforcement, and many other techniques with our energetic pup. 100% would recommend these guys!

We recently got a Labradoodle puppy (currently 11 weeks old) and have been working with Kristi Berlin every week (including the week before he arrived) on preparation and training for our little guy. Kristi is beyond amazing - she is incredibly knowledgable, professional, thoughtful and very kind and patient with all of us. Before we brought our puppy home, Kristi helped us plan his space and know what to expect for the first week. I had done a lot of reading as well, but it was super helpful to have someone to talk everything over with. We've worked with Kristi once a week since our puppy has been home (2 weeks), and we couldn't be more pleased with our choice of trainer. Our pup already knows his name, come, and sit and is learning down, drop it and how to walk with a harness and leash on. And we're making good progress on 'alone time'. Kristi is very responsive to the several emails a week that I send her - and has shared so many helpful print and digital resources. She takes time to answer all of our questions at each session and has several potential solutions to try for different issues/questions that we have. I absolutely know things wouldn't be going so well if we weren't working with Kristi!! We are looking forward to our next private session in two weeks, and then to Puppy Classes. :-)

Tina came over for the puppies welcome home 1.5hr training and she was so friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this training for any new puppy. We gained skills to better manage and train our puppy and we noticed an improvement in our puppies behaviour immediately. She answered all our questions and provided us with very useful tips for feeding, biting,walking, crate training and potty training. Also a plus that the training tired our puppy out and she slept for the entire afternoon.

After trying a few other dog trainers to help my reactive dog, we decided to try one more training class. Luckily, this was the best one and it far exceeded any expectations. I saw tremendous progress in my dog after just the first class with Tina and Kristi. These people are truly experts in dog behaviour, and even more importantly, they care deeply about the dogs and their progress. My dog loved attending the class (despite the fact that she is reactive) and the classes were designed to ease the dogs into stressful situations. The trainers skillfully analyzed each dog's behaviour and took the time to explain to us what they were observing. The use of props (and treats!) in the class was helpful, as was the way the class was structured. By limiting the class to only four dogs, and by allowing the owners to observe each dog reacting to different situations, we learned a lot about dog behaviour in general and about how a person's behaviour can affect their dog's. On a personal level, Tina and Kristi are both caring and compassionate people and it shows. I would recommend these trainers to anyone looking for a dog trainer, and the class to anyone with a reactive dog that needs some professional help. My dog seems much happier around the neighbourhood now.

I have now completed a puppy socialization class and a private session with Tina from Canine Minds and Manners. She was so warm and knowledgeable, and put me at ease regarding my concerns about my puppy right away. She made it feel manageable to work with my puppy on redirecting energy away from biting. She is clearly passionate about the work and has a great deal of expertise in the science behind canine behaviour and how to shape dog behaviour effectively through positive reinforcement. She offered tons of ideas and guidance on how to provide enough mental and physical stimulation for an active dog and how to work with problem behaviours. In two sessions Tina changed our lives. We got a new puppy, meal time was a nightmare, he growled, snarled, lashed out, my children were afraid of him ..... according to Dr Google he was resource guarding". I reached out to a few training centres in my community and Tina was recommended across the board. After her first visit

Signed our Australian Shepard puppy up for polite puppy classes and was blown away by the knowledge the team had and the kindness that was shown to everyones puppies and the people attending the classes. Unfortunately we ended up pulling our dog from the class, as he was reactive to other dogs and was barking throughout the class, and we wanted to get him out of this stage before bringing him to a group environment. Canine Minds and Manners offered to refund the remainder of our classes which was extremely nice of them and unexpected. We will be pursuing private lessons with them which will suite our dogs specific needs better in this reactive stage. We couldn't recommend Canine minds and manners more!!

Kristi Berlin was extremely helpful and accommodating for us. We brought her in for an in home consultation puppy welcome home package and were impressed with how practical and customized her advice was. Our puppy ended up being sick and wasn't able to go through training at the time, but Kristi stayed and helped in every way she could. She rearranged our session to focusing on giving us the skills we could use when our puppy got better. The amount of tools and resources she gave us was amazing, we were so impressed with how she went above and beyond to serve our needs. To top it all off she was very pleasant to speak with and down to earth!
