My wife and I (we) bought a Neilcorp Construction home last August. We had hoped for earliest occupancy date possible, with no binding commitments from Neilcorp. The construction started early November and finished April 25 2019. One of the dirtiest winters in recent time. The result was a near perfect home (minor cosmetic adjustments).by the full Neilcorp team which includes all trades. We have built two homes ourselves. We know of what we speak. Outstanding performance by Neilcorp . Thank you all at Neilcorp.

Not really the experience we had expected with our first home. Signed up for 42x110 and got 40x100 lot. They don't even bother to inform you. The design trims and selection were different in pictures and on addendum. It was a huge mistake on my part that I trusted the design center folks with the model names and codes and thought they had it correctly on the addendums. I signed and can't complain about the differences in the finished home.Verify everyth a 100 times before you sign anything with Neilcorp!!!!They don't have exhaust over the range hood which is again a big surprise as they knew from day 1 that I'll be using a gas range, it was on the addendum. Now I have to get an exhaust/duct work done at my own expenses. Would never recommend anyone else to buy a home from Neilcorp!!!!!Poor work on the drywalls and framing as seen in the attached picture, the column doesn't even run straight and they want us to put everything on a tarion check.Feel free to tour my home before buying with Neilcorp, it's been less than two weeks and the experience has forced me to put this review out to help others. There's no fibre to the entire street which was builders responsibility, ISP says the builder didn't do their job on time.Just go with some reputed builder and put your hard earned money in good hands. The builder might discredit this review but talk to our neighbors, similar experience and surprises.

Terrible quality builder. Told there are no homes being built in front of ours at closing, then suddenly (2 weeks later), home are being built.PDI was done less than 24 hours prior to closing. So many issues in the home (cabinets inside out, shower not even installed properly, scratched tiles, broken windows letting cold air in). Also haven’t been able to consistently access my own home considering they dug a huge crater in front of our driveway as well as huge trucks in front of our home for a week. If it isn’t that, it’s other construction workers using our home as their driveway.Nothing was installed properly. ACs mounted aren’t to code (you can’t open the back window). When calling, they give no real resolution or solution. Just “we didn’t know”.Don’t be fooled by this being a smaller more honest builder. They’re worse than any I’ve ever used.

One thing after the next with this horrible builder. They are so uneducated it’s embarrassing. They rushed our house so fast and did a PDI only 24 hours before getting the keys. The house was in horrible condition to say the least. Complained to our rep and management countless times about so many different things but they did not care what so ever. The house was missing so much things that should have been there and we had to pay out of our pocket for everything. It seems the reps and management all suffer from Alzheimer’s as they tended to “forget” to inform us of a lot of important things. Every time I’d talk to management about something that came up they would do absolutely NOTHING. One of the worse builders I’ve ever dealt with. Absolute trash to say the least.

Have to say the experience we have had with Neilcorp has been VERY DISAPPOINTING. The photos I have attached is of our new backyard. Our whole street is extremely dissapointed with this process. As you can see in the photos it's basically a ski hill. Our street name is Reaume Street in Almonte Ontario for anybody that wants to look at this before they buy from Neilcorp.

Terrible communication, they have given misinformation on many occasions about what is being done to our home and when things would be getting fixed. We have been in our home for over 1.5 years and still do not have grass in our backyard. When they finally fixed the foundation leak (took 1 year) they left all the staples, nails and black tar stuff on the ground in my back yard.

Neilcorp stands behind its product. We recently had an issue with the roof leaking. Even though we are the third owners of this house, Neilcorp took full responsibility for the repair and therefore certainly reaffirms to us that they are a quality builder. A big thanks to Doug and Grace at Neilcorp and Dave from CDG roofing.

We bought a home from Neilcorp in November 2018 and took possession in August 2019 just as they said we would. The whole process was seamless starting with Tanya all the way to being shown our home on day of closing with Jody. Over the last 4 years we have lived in the house, we have had a few minor repairs that needed to be done and the team at Neilcorp has addressed them flawlessly. We can say that we are pleased with Neilcorp and would like to thank Grace, Don and all the rest that helped along the way.

It turns out all builders are the same. Neilcorp has now grown to large and forgotten how they go to where they are, their trades and contractors. This is why I have given a 2 star rating as I don’t intend this review to knock down the actual people who build these homes. This is by far a quality home in comparison to other “mass” builders in the Ottawa valley. Dealing with neilcorp employees however has been nothing but a let down. Starting in their sales, Tanya, speaks as if she knows of what is going on with these homes just to get your deposit and once they’ve received that you realize quickly she doesn’t. Don and Megan appeared to be a pleasant pair in arnprior to deal with when it came to warranty, but soon after the initial 30 day warranty they quickly lose interest in your home and warranty. Our kitchen, supplied by DESLAURIERS, is very cheap and from the beginning wasn’t done the way we had asked, hoped and signed for. 4 days were taken off work to repair their issues under warranty and the end result again isn’t what we wanted. Threw all this, not a single offer of compensation for our time off work, during a tough time in Canada. We had a huge power outage in arnprior causing a surge that left a lot of home owners without any appliances. ‘Corcann’, the HVAC contractor, was around for 3 days straight after knocking on peoples doors providing FREE quotes for insurance. When asking about the electricians to come by to have a look and see if I should be worried about anything, I was told by neilcorp that I would have to pay a service fee. I understand this was an act of nature, but how can an HVAC company provide free estimates and not an electrician.. after a major power surge? I can continue for a lot longer but it will be pointless and nothing will be done over it. Neilcorp only cares about your money and nothing else to do with the warranty of your home. Stay clear

This review is quite a bit overdue. We purchased our home in October of 1999, prior to the start of the pandemic. The initial stage of dealing with Tanya in their sales office, for the purchase, was very pleasant. She was knowledgeable and helpful. With her help we began the process of setting meetings with some of NeilCorp's interior design experts - and they could not have been more helpful - amazing ladies all of them (sorry I cannot remember your names). We were very pleasantly surprised at the amount of custom touches we were allowed to do - to really make this a custom home.We took possession right on time, the initial date set when we purchased the home - basically a year later. We are now a year and a half in the home, and are very pleased with it.Tasmin in their office has been very helpful for the odd little bit of follow up, and Don their service technician has been by a few times for simple things, and is always on time and easy to deal with.We would not hesitate in recommending NeilCorp as a homebuilder - great value, amazing ability to customize and quality work.Carolyn & Dave
