My fiancé and I went to Satsuki for the Omakase experience to celebrate our anniversary.It was such an authentic experience that it took me back years when I visited Japan. All the sushi was so fresh and tasted amazing. The flavour combinations were perfect, light, not overpowering, and you could really focus on the fish.The head chef also had a sake certificate, I believe a sake sommelier certificate, from Japan and so the sake pairings were just perfect and really helped exentuate the flavours from the food.The appetizer and dessert were also quite good .If you are looking for something authentic and delicious, please take a look at this hidden gem in Kensington YYC and be ready for a pricey yet satisfying dinner.

Very lovely place! The food is fantastic and everything is presented nicely. The owners are very sweet and passionate about what they create, and I loved hearing from the chef about each dish that was served at our table. Highly recommend strawberry yeast sake, it was delicious.

Dining at Satsuki was a wonderful experience. We were warmly greeted. The service and food were both excellent. There are so many menu items that I want to go back and try.Edit: Went back a second time for Mother’s Day and they did not disappoint. Great food and service!

Very impressed with the incredible food at Satsuki—ingredients were fresh and the flavours were spot on. My favourite dishes were the sable fish risotto, sushi/sashimi, and negi toro roll. I thought the wagyu gyoza were alright, but not a dish I'd necessarily order again. Service was normal, not particularly friendly though, as other reviewers said (there was only one server during our meal and they looked busy. They forgot our dessert from the set menu). Loved the decor, ambience, and location as well. Definitely not a cheap meal.

Atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty nice but kinda small. Food was just okay. With a very limited amount of items on the menu, I expected perfect execution, but this was not the case. Presentation was nice, but taste was inconsistent. The amount of vinegar used in the sushi rice was a bit too much, the acidity was too overpowering and you couldn't taste the flavor of the fish. Pricing wise, very expensive compared to other high end sushi places in the city. House made ginger was really good though.

Went here for the first time and was blown away by the food!It is pretty expensive but well worth it. Everything we had was great, the fish was very fresh. The service was also very good, we had the owner greet us and he explained a lot of the dishes on the menu.Lovely atmosphere as well. Will definitely be back.

They have some very unique items on their menu. We tried the black cod risotto, Wagyu dumplings and the chef's special sashimi. The black cod and dumplings were very good. Wanted to try the dessert but didn't have any room! Will have to save for next time.

Fantastic experience. Great sashimi and very fresh. The hojicha ice cream is delicious. Service and ambience was superb. I certainly recommend this restaurant to those who are looking for traditional Japanese food.Great location and easy parking.

Lunch at Satsuki was a comfy and at ease place with great food, and friendly staff. I got to talk to the very nice Head Chef, May. She shared her passion and experience about Japanese dishes and cuisine, which made it a memorable experience. Enjoyed a Mother's Day set lunch started with a refreshing appetizer Kani Sunmono and delicious Sakura Hamachi, followed by fresh assorted sushi and ended with a tasty dessert, Sakura Strawberry mousse. A perfect lunch at a lovely place. This is the place to connect with people and enjoy the great food.

We had a wonderful dining experience in Satsuki. The food are fresh and tasty, the service is exceptional, we are being taken good care by chef Maymay. We will definitely go back to try their omakase.
