I've spent the last two days here visiting a relative, so this review is from a visitor perspective not a patient viewpoint. The hospital is clean and tidy. I love all the art on the walls that brings some cheerfulness to the mostly white walls. Decor is tasteful. The staff are friendly, though busy. There are lovely little lounge areas all over for visitors, with a few patios outside as well.

Our father John Warren unfortunately spent a short time in The Palliative Care Unit. Thank you to the nursing staff and doctor for their kind approach in all they did to care for my father. The doctor was kind and made it easy to understand what we could expect. The nurses assigned each day were different but treated my father like he was their father. Speaking with kindness and sweetness. Thank you to all who made this very difficult time a little easier.

All of the doctors and nurses at the Camrose Hospital are dismissive, disrespectful, and unkind. The wait times are ridiculous and doctors aren't willing to do most testing (x-rays, blood work etc.) They don’t really care for the well being of their patients. I’ve witnessed two cases where doctors told patients their bones weren’t broken. Where later doctors in Daysland confirmed that the bones were in fact broken. I understand covid may or may have not made the health care workers a little tired/overwhelmed, but if you can’t handle the work load or don’t actually find joy working in health care. Then don’t. People should feel comfortable walking into a hospital, when in need of medicine attention. Knowing they’ll receive quick/reasonable assistance, kindness and respect. I do not recommend Camrose hospital for any health care services. In the past 10 years it’s gotten ridiculous. Daysland has by far the best medicine services.

Nursing staff in the hospital proper are fabulous. Avoid emergency if at all possible (20 yrs experience going here.) Also, the irony of the framed land acknowledgment hung on the wall by emergency vs the attitudes and opinions of the staff towards indigenous people is next level.

NOT impressed with the mental health unit 3. I was there for almost 3 weeks.. I attended all the group sessions / paper work / readings .. I was told I didn't do enough . A follow app is supposed to be 2 weeks after discharge ... I waited 4 weeks , my dr went on holidays (I should have been referred to another dr until my next app.).. We are talking mental health here ... We are fragile . I was started on a new med .. after 2 -4 weeks and no help . I phoned the unit many times . My call was never returned . I went to see my reg GP.....Looking for an increase .. unit 3 dr had instructed my GP not to touch my file / meds ....I was started on another med ... 2-4 weeks and no improvement... Today I was supposed to have a ZOOM call with unit 3 ...that was supposed to be 4 1/2 hours ago .. silence ..…..I WOULDN’t recommend anybody go there … I feel worse today than before I went …. Dr's heads are going to roll when I call unit 3 tomorrow..... The food was more than aweful ..This is mental health .. how sad sad sad . Pathetic if ya ask me

Do not go here if you want quality healthcare. Nurses are dismissive and incompetent, they send patients home who are definitely not okay. I would never go here again nor take anyone I love here.

This hospital is a joke. We took out 11 year old into emergency because of severe swellingin his mouth to the point he could barely breathe. After 2 hours we walked out because they wouldn't even give him anything for the pain. They just left him screaming and crying, and then tried a placebo to see if he was faking. The dr onhand claims he couldn't see a problem in his mouth. I'm not a dr and could tell his mouth was swollen, his tongue was swollen and he was in immense pain. Worst hospital in Alberta as far as I'm concerned. I will never subject anybody, no matter the injury to this supposed hospital. Great job AHS at failing the citizens once again. But at least all the managers made their bonuses this quarter

I visited last Wednesday for a ACL replacement with Dr. Kumar and the supporting staff at St. Mary's. From the minute I walked in to getting discharged, I was in excellent hands. The staff were courteous, helpful and fun to be around. Very positive attitude from everyone and very knowledgeable about what was going to happen and how to make my surgery a success. I had the honor of having Dr. Kumar reattaching my left knee ACL a few years ago. That was an insight on how this surgeon conducts his procedures and instills pride and compassion in the supporting staff. This is a perfect example of a well functioning team that is well versed in patient care. From the staff at the front door who assisted in parking when my card would not work to everyone in between and Dr. Kumar and Jennifer, thank you very much. My only regret is that 5 stars are the maximum I may give! All the best and keep up the good work; it is appreciated!Brian Pelechytik.

Totally unacceptable ER. My mother had to wait 10 hours to see a doctor . She has a serious condition and it could have been fatal. The nurses kept telling us that she should be in within an hour or 2. There were 8 people in front of her upon arrival. Would have been much quicker to drive her to Edmonton. Numerous people I’ve talked to have had similar experiences.
