Turtle Jack's Port Carling
My bf took me there for a romantic dinner as they have a beautiful view from the Patio. Due to rain we couldnt sit there. We were told there is bit of a wait so we gave our name and sat at the bar. It took 10 mins to get us our first drinks. While sitting at the bar i noticed a Big Block of cheese sitting open with flies all over it. The same cheese they use for their Ceaser Drinks. Then after half hr i went to go check on our table and was told someone deleted our name from the wait list. Finally after 45 mins we had the table.Once we were seated no server approached us for 15 mins. We waived down a server and then the bar back took our order. We ordered the Salmon to share and the portion was barely enough for one person and the price was ridiculous.Since we were still hungry we ordered a dessert which was cheaper and more filling. Once again had to waive down a server to get us some cutlery. She forgot then we asked the bar back guy again and we now finally had spoons to eat our dessert. Only to see 1 spoon was filthy and dirty. We were there for over 2 hrs food was good but horrible service and hygenes. Prices are way too high for the quantity of the food given. The batender and the blonde manager had a really bad attitude with us.I would not recomend eating there

Unfortunately this restaurant saves tables when they are nearly empty on a Tuesday. We are two people and we're told that we would have to wait 20 minutes or more for a smaller table to become available or eat inside. There were 4 larger tables sitting empty and business was slow. I just don't understand this thought process. I don't think 4 groups of 5 or more would have shown up right when we did. If we had to wait for a smaller table, then if they did arrive during the hour we would have been there I'm sure they could wait as well. Unfortunate during these lean times. I guess we will find another place that would be happy to seat us and take our business.

The food here is absolutely horrific. I thought it was just the first time we dined here but it was even worse the second time. Very over priced, service is extremely slow and the food tastes like yesterdays leftovers.

Slow service. My daughters food showed up after my wife and I have completely finished eating. Despite the fast everything (including apps) were ordered at the same time. It’s a great location and atmosphere but painful service.

We have been coming here for years. Good food for the most part but the prices have really gone up, so much so I won' t be coming very often. Bringing my family of four cost $200.00 ish. I get it, if it's full you charge what you can but many people are talking about the price increases and how they won't be going back. You may want to look at this before the business declines.

The location is very good. Right on the water. The patio views are nice. Service is mediocre, due to the fact that it took a long time to get our food. Waitress was also on her first day and was attentive, despite not knowing the menu and taking forever to get our bills. On to the food:I got the Hell of a Burger and caeser salad as my side.Hell of a burger was awful. It was so bland it was unbelievable. It looked very good but was not seasoned and had no flavor. Somehow, they managed to find jalapenos that have zero spice. Not sure how I paid $30 for it. Five guys does such a better job and never leaves you disappointed. I think that's what made this burger so bad the fact that you pay$30 for one, and it blows. This burger was a huge fail.Caeser salad was supposed to be garlicky. It had less flavor than a jar of Renee's reduced fat Caeser salad dressing. Skimped on the bacon and the parmesan cheese too. Disappointing side that couldn't elevate the burger. The kids menu is reasonably priced and actually was a huge portion. The portion was large enough for a female adult with a small appetite. The fries were cold and soggy.Cheese pizza was as bad as frozen pizza. Actually it may have been worse. I asked my daughter a few days later when we were at Costco sampling Kirkland frozen cheese pizza and she preferred Kirkland. Zero char on the base. Lacking in tomatoe flavor. My kid ate one slice and called it quits. The Red Thai curry dish looked pretty good. However it did not look like the picture. The sauce was slathered all over the rice, and in doing so the bowl of rice was no longer a bowl shape, but smashed down and also made it look like a plate of soup.I had a few bites of the Thai curry and I would say the curry had good flavor and was a bit spicy. It was even spicier than my burger. There was enough veggies in the meal with some crunch. I think you could order a second bowl of rice to go with the amount of sauce. The ratios are a bit off here. The plating was a fail.Another disappointing aspect of this meal was the fact that the upcharge for the kids meal for chocolate milk. The kids menu says that it includes your choice of milk, pop, or juice. They charded $3.00. How much is the cost of chocolate milk at this place? $5.00?? This seems absurd. The kids meal is only $10.99.All around, this establishment has nice views and many failures in food. Also, the mens washroom was gross. Fix the lock in the accessible stall and hire a real company to clean your washrooms. Why have real soap dispensers but put out little bottles of soap. This is having the same vibes as a Chinese restaurant washroom. Don't cheap out if we are paying $$$$ to eat here. Actually, the women's washroom was worse I was told. 2 stalls clogged. You should focus your attention there.

Having visited many years ago (we are from the UK but holiday here as we have family in the area) we remember Turtle Jacks being great. We got a nice table and had a server called Elizabeth. It’s a beautiful location with a good menu and as a group of 5 we ordered a variety of food and drink. Sadly, the chicken fingers I had ordered were very chewy and stringy and just poor quality meat. After a few attempts to eat it I was feeling nauseous and so we called the server over and I exchanged it for a burger as had been put off by the chicken. It took 25 minutes to get the exchange by which time I wasn’t really hungry but was grateful for something else. When the bill came it was quite high at over $200 for 5 meals and soft drinks. Upon looking at the bill I had been charged for both the chicken fingers and the substituted burger at 30 dollars each! We raised this and they stated they could not give us a refund but would give us a gift card. This is no good as we don’t live here so would not be able to use it. They then gave us $20 cash as a refund and refused to give us a full card refund for the $30 meal. Not only did we tip $50 but we didn’t get a full refund for the substituted main meal which should never have been charged in the first place. Has sadly put us off returning.

Great place to spend some good time with friends but had to give up on food as the wait to get the food was too long. Thus 3 stars!Enjoyed a beer with friends by the lake and would say the ambiance is great. Serving staff was doing it’s best to serve but I believe it was the Kitchen which was overwhelmed with the orders.

My family had lunch there in June 2023. The floating patio tables had a great view of the lake. My fish taco had too much salt and seasoning on the fish. There were ample parking spaces. Overall it was a very good experience.
