I had high expectations to enjoy this gastronomic experience; having grown up in Japan and wanting to recreate a special meal experience for my loved ones to enjoy with me. First off, the overall experience was pleasant; I will say the customer service was excellent and the cocktails were delicious. The low stars is attributed to the food and that it fell short of expectation. We ordered the Lobster and NY Steak and was a bit disappointed as to why our lobster was served to us first and then our steak cooked last at the table; we were hoping to eat the two together so the timing of the cooks could have been improved. It was also quite salty so we didn’t finish our meal; which for the high calibre of price you pay for everything, was a let down. My brother in law ordered the filet mignon and that was quite excellent. I’d just recommend to order that and not a combo if you aren’t all that hungry! Also, wear light clothing; it got a bit too hot at times.I would definitely dine here again and recommend it for the experience and service but be more cognizant of what I order next time.

I came back here to dine after 10 years and still remember how delightful the experience was. The food was very good and the skillful show the chefs did enhanced the enjoyment. I loved how fresh the food was and being prepared right in front of you. Very attentive staff and their chefs were quite entertaining. They complimented us with free dessert which was a very thoughtful gesture. Will definitely be coming back

Been a while since we enjoyed this fun dinner experience. Celebrated a friend's birthday and had an awesome dinner. Service was great. Only critique was the quick turnover of the table. But knew that going in.

Been going to Kobe for the past 29 years, last night was the worst experience ever, no flavour in the food. Taking forever or not brining our drinks. Will never go back. Even had a wagyu for the first time tasted brutal, good bye Kobe

This was my first time back to Kobe in a few years. We went as a large group. The chefs were great, friendly and entertaining as always and the food was excellent. It’s very pricey, but it’s a cool and unique experience and downtown so definitely a special occasion place. I didn’t give a 5 star because a few of the servers weren’t very welcoming and the washroom was poorly kept. But other than that, a great spot.

As a vegan I was hesitant but attended for a birthday. Reviewed the menu before going and was disappointed that there was only one option ( yes, I know it’s a steak house) BUT, our chef was so accommodating, even though it was just one option it was awesome, the portion was enough for two or more people. Great flavour. The chef was entertaining, staff were courteous and attentive. Great experience. Enjoyed the community seating as well- got to chat with a couple who’d just arrived from Germany and this was their first day in Canada

We come here often. We often bring our colleagues, clients and staff here and it’s usually a phenomenal time. I tend to recommend the Kobe beef because it’s simply excellent. I get it every time we come. The reason for the three star review is based upon our most recent experience. We came in for cocktails and planned to stay for a long night of enjoyment with food and drinks. We ordered our drinks within a minute of arriving. We then waited (in a half empty room) for our drinks for over 16-17 minutes. With no drinks in sight or communication from the staff, we ended up leaving and we spent our time and money elsewhere. Everyone was moving at a pretty casual pace and it wasn’t chaotically full. We intended to spend a healthy amount of money that evening but when drinks are taking over 15 minutes to arrive, it’s hard to get in the mindset of spending an enjoyable care-free evening at the restaurant. On a side note, another issue that comes up quite frequently is the disparity between the reservation time and the actual cooking/eating time. We often book a reservation (which is usually always required) at a certain time and they tend to be late seating often. By the time you’re seated and they begin cooking, there is often a 45 minute delay. This is an issue when you’ve made plans based on the accuracy of the reservation like seeing a hockey game or concert. It’ll be awhile before we return (if ever) which is unfortunate because we spent lots of time and money here over the past year. I hope service standards improve. On a positive note, the food is always excellent.

All the staff was really nice. The restaurant is a little dark. There’s too many seats at a table, resulting in not enough personal space. Most of the food has the same seasoning, it was all a little bit too salty, our steaks were also very chewy and over cooked, but despite that our chef was amazing super funny and nice so he saved the day. Pricing is reasonable. There were like 10 birthdays during our dining

This was our first time trying Kobe and we loved every minute of the experience. Everything from the soup to mango ice cream was super yummy! The Chef adds to the experience as he displays his culinary talent.
