I don't live in the South, so I rarely get in there. I can tell you this is the Cadillac of fly fishing shops. Easily has the most stock and variety in Calgary. Staff is knowledgeable and very friendly.

Super friendly (as billed on their website) and helpful! Great selection of gear. They just received a TON of flies, so go load up!Update: Been back many times since (my wallet hates me), and always great service and selection. Very helpful to someone just getting into the sport. Didn't make me feel bad for asking very basic questions.

We had a fantastic day on the Bow River with Ben as our guide. He worked hard to get us into great spots with big fish. Ben was easy going and gave us great advice to help improve our technique. Overall a phenomenal day on great water! Would highly recommend.

As a beginner in fly fishing, I have grown to love this store. It has everything I one day hope to have *ahem* (Orvis recon 6 wt 9'6 fly rod) *ahem* and outstanding staff. I was in the other day looking for stocking stuffers and a staff member was very helpful. That staff are also very knowledgeable about the Bow River so while you are here, ask :)Tip - Before I walk into the store I set my spending limit. Do I stick to it? Sometimes, yes. Do I go over it? Also yes

Popped in here before I headed out for the first time fly fishing and I received great advice from Will.He was very knowledgeable and took the time to educate me in a very patient manner.The store itself is amazing! Basically, anything and everything fly fishing related, you’ll find here. They also offer guiding trips.What a fantastic business! I highly recommend Fish Tales Fly Shop Ltd.
