Memphis Blues

the food is so delicious but the service is so bad, we won't be back for a while. Went the other night and the hostess and her boss (?) stood around trying to decide where to seat us. There were empty tables but they were all dirty I assume they didn't want to clean them to seat us. We left after ten minutes of waiting and being ignored. Sorry Memphis Blues but your staff needs better training, I know this is B.C. and the standards are lower but if you want to succeed you really need to fix the service.17/01/14 Just an update: we went last night and got a table, seems the redhead that snubbed us last time wasn't there last night. The staff that was were awesome, friendly and accommodating. We were seated right away (I made a reservation) and the food came out really quickly. The food is so good I had to give them one more chance, they've redeemed themselves in my book. Good job!

Want our type of food. But no reason to bash them. The people where nice service was quick.

This is one hell of a place great food and service. Loved the ribs and spicy fries. The dry rub on the ribs was intense. The BBQ sauce was heavenly. Came with slaw and beans. The beans were great but I hate coleslaw so I never tried it. Pulled pork sandwich was great as well. Also has peach cobbler for dessert. I also tried the brisket and it was great!!!!!!!!!

Last night was my first and, most likely, last time I'll ever go to Memphis Blues. The seafood was good (although it all tasted overly salty), however the platter was entirely lacklustre. The potato salad and coleslaw were lacking Any flavour at all. All of the varieties of meat, although had smoke rings, were very dry, had a reheated" taste and didn't have much flavour. The only way to add flavour was by putting bbq sauce on it. Your food should be able to stand alone

On the lower end of average. The main meat was fine but all the side dishes were boring. Everything was served in cheap little paper cups like a real fast food joint. The service was friendly but the best part of the meal was the company at our table. I won't be back. There are so many dining options and the competition is fierce, these guys need to up their game.

Staff were friendly and kind but the food was just underwhelming. The menu Lead me to believe that what we ordered were meals for one but honestly, two people could have easily shared one platter. This would have been helpful to know at the time of ordering as it just makes the bill a little outrageous.Again the staff was kind, I just left feeling dissatisfied with the experience, quality of food and the price I paid.Would not recommend.

Hmm, These reviews have me apprehensive to want to eat here. I enjoyed myself thoroughly when I went to the North Vancouver location, which has since been closed. Could this be a case of someone franchising a once reputable name and exploiting it?Update: I decided to give it a go, despite what I have read here. Shawn, the Manager, was VERY attentive, and had us seated immediately. He went over the menu with us and recommended the Memphis Feast, which accommodated 3 adults and 2 children quite well. The service was very good as was the food. When we were finished and I was paying the bill (VERY reasonable considering the cost of produce these days), I let him know of my previous posting here and of the review I am posting now. I give our experience a 4.5.Thank you and your staff, Shawn, for making our meal there very enjoyable.

wheres the manager (bald, friendly looking guy)? He knows what he's doing, he has the entire restaurant under control. But I was here today, and there were these other employees who were just so d*** slow. There was one tables full and one take out order. the table's already had their food, and they were finishing up. There were absolutely no reasons for them to be slow. It seemed like they forgot that Mondays a rib day.All you can eat is about speed serving. Took them 15 minutes to get me my rib refill... I was already full by the time they got me the second serving. Whats the point of getting all you can eat ribs if they are gonna serve slow as heck and have the customers finish eating before they serve the second round.

You wont find too many traditional bbq places up here so it's nice to have a memphis blues. The food is tasty, quick and for the portions, affordable. Two adults could easily share some of the larger options. I got the half chicken meal, had enough left overs for a second meal. Came to 17$ before tip, drink and taxes. Larger tables could host a bigger party but not a large restaurant, during meal time rush hour I'd opt to order take out.
