Although I have issues with the admin staff in making my appointments correctly and not letting me know when they change, all my interactions with Dr Barrientos have been very positive. She makes good suggestions and always takes my concerns seriously. She always makes sure that all relevant and required tests are booked and followed up on.

I was a patient of Dr. Hong who is no longer at the clinic and since then have been receiving very impersonal care. I recently had a virtual appointment where I got a requisition for a pressing matter and I received one that was incorrectly filled out. The reception said they would message the doctor to get it fixed. It has now been 3 days and no follow up to get me the correct requisition. What kind of doctor does not reply to a simple yes or no question for three days? It looks like they do not care and makes me want to transfer out of this clinic if I can find another family doctor.

I have had a poor experience with the wait times at umedical. The clinic is very hard to get on the phone and their online booking system shows no availability for 20+ days.I’ve been a patient with them since 2020.

I used to go and be very happy with the clinic but they moved me to another doctor - Lorena Barrientos and she is extremely unprofessional and inhumane. I'm dealing with depression and she blamed me for my situation and wouldn't prioritize my mental health. I do not recommend this clinic. Took me forever to be able to talk to them over the phone.

Receptionists here are not helpful in any way, just like many other reviewers mention. They simply don't care about their patients. I'd rather go to walk-in if I have to call them to speak one of these receptionists for an appointment.

I have a very satisfying experience with the Doctors at Umedical at 600 Sherbourne, especially my Family Physician Dr. Barrientos . Here I feel I am listened to and understood and treated in the best way possible which is evident from the results I get. I highly recommend their services to everyone seeking quality treatment.Thank you

I’ve been with this clinic from the very beginning. They’ve always treated me with respect and do their best to accommodate me.Dr Barrientos has helped me through some very difficult times. She’s professional, supportive, listens to my concerns and has a wealth of knowledge unmatched by any doctor I’ve been to.

TL;DR: really happy so far and no issues.It seems like some people have a lot of issues that centre mainly around how difficult it is to sign up for a family doctor and issues dealing with reception. Admittedly, it did take a bit of time to get signed up for a family doctor, but that was taking a lot of time with whoever I spoke to. It didn't seem like it was taking more time with this clinic.When I did get through and was assigned to Dr. Oldfield, I can honestly say that he's been better than I had any right to expect. He's very knowledgeable, he's very professional and he's obviously caring. Even if something like a referral or a prescription doesn't work out, he always has an alternative or a plan B. I feel really comfortable and taken care of with him as my doctor.It does sometimes take a minute to get through to reception whenever I have to deal with them, and that mostly seems to happen whenever I get the machine and have to leave a message. When I do get them on the phone, they've always been really helpful and friendly.

Highly recommend! I feel incredibly lucky to have found this clinic and Dr. Oldfield. He has been patient, attentive and very supportive and helpful. The front desk is also great to deal with. Five stars ⭐️ !
