Hamilton Kitchen Renovations

We are giving 2 stars rather than 1 star because the finished product was ok although we had hoped for something a bit better for the cost. Overall the process was awful. We were given a 5 week estimation for completion of our kitchen and mudroom remodel. Although we expected that it would probably take a bit longer because these things usually do, it was way past 5 weeks. The demolition was on July 4, 2022 and we were able to use the kitchen (although not completely done) by October. It is now January 2023 and we are still waiting for parts to be finished. As mentioned, demolition was July 4th and it seemed to go well and we thought that everything would continue smoothly. However it was 9 days before anyone came back to do anything with our project. This pattern continued for the entire project - a bit of work done (usually on the weekends or evenings like we were an afterthought that they had to fit in) and then days when nothing happened. Also the whole project was mismanaged. For example, they put in the floor and then did the drywalling (very messy and was not good for the new floor). When we mentioned this and even showed the project manager a timeline of when they were at our place, nothing changed. Even now they wanted to come on the weekend to finish up. Also we were disappointed in the paint job - they are not professional painters and I'm going to have to redo it. More blue paint was on the ceiling and woodwork than on the walls. Finally the final cost was approximately 30 per cent over the estimate. Very disappointing experience and we would never recommend them to any family or friends unless they are able to handle months of mess and frustration. PS they are not really a Hamilton company - they are from Toronto. We had wanted to go with a Hamilton company.
