Hong Kong Buffet

Keeping in mind that we went on a Monday night (around 7), I was pretty impressed. A good selection of food and sushi, not a lot of desserts. The food wasn’t fresh obviously but it was still tasty and edible. The sushi however was very fresh. It’s probably better on a busier night but I liked that we were the only people there. Service was good and music was good.

I thought the main course food was quite good but when I went to the dessert section there were fruit flies all over the fruit. Like I thought the watermelon had a lot of seeds until I got closer and the seeds flew away. As well, my husband found a hair in his piece of cake. It made me wonder about the rest of the food I already ate. I haven't decided if I will return.

Food was okay. Came kinda late for lunch they let us start eating the all you can eat. Then 2 plates in told us we had to stop, due to they were switching over to dinner. It would have been nice to get a heads up that we would not be able to enjoy the all you can eat. Or at least let us pay the dinner price upfront. Would have had bigger plates if we knew we only going to get two plates.

After reading a number of reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. I kept an open mind and made my decision to try this place. There was plenty of free parking and for a hot summer day the A/C was a pleasant respite. The food bins were adequately stocked. But there was a narrow selection of items unless your an adventurous jello eater. The food was good, but I prefer the Asian food served at New Haven restaurant on Manitoba street. If you are looking to walk out full you've come to the right place .

I was so disappointed in the food this time. Some of the food was not that hot. Not much to choose from. The older lady waitress was so rude and unfriendly. She is not a good waitress at all. The waitress was trying to take our plates away before we were finish eating. We had made a reservation for a certain time as we were bringing in guests. The restaurant staff let another walk in group take our spot. So I would not recommend to make a reservation there. I will never go back. Time to go out of town to eat. I was so disappointed in the visit there . The food is so greasy and really not a hold lot to choose from in Chinese food. Chicken balls are not balls there little pieces of meat batter. So disappointing. I think the owner needs to go to other buffet to see how real food is made and get a idea on selection. Not worth the money or the visit there. Better off going to the Chinese restaurant up the street or wabara.

We checked it out even though friends said it has been getting worse lately. Extra star awarded for great price. Variety is decent. Nothing by big city standards, but good enough. They do seem to keep an eye on everything making sure the items don't run out. Dessert/salads are boring. They have some standard sushi type rolls, but nothing great. Best part is the stir fry where you can fill your plate with raw ingredients and give it to them to cook in front of you, finishing off with a choice of sauces. I usually don't even bother with the hot buffet because of that.

We had an early dinner here two days ago with friends and family. While the selection wasn't huge, the food at the buffet tables was plentiful, hot and good.There was one little hiccup with the service. Our server misunderstood when I asked for a club soda and served me a water. It was a very minor issue and I didn't make a fuss, but it's worth noting that for some of the staff english is not their primary language.Would I recommend this place? Absolutely, in a New York minute. With the good food, great service and moderate prices, what's not to recommend?

Very good food. The best buffet in Muskoka. My pictures don't look that great but the sushi, noodles and ribs were really good and had a lot of flavor! It's been my favorite go to location for a great buffet here in muskoka!

Extraordinary - but not in the way your used to that word. Instead, Hong Kong Buffett is just extra ordinary. In other words, it's very mediocre.There isn't really anything about this place that jumps out as amazing but, in all fairness, that's exactly what I expected when I first saw this place.The food is good, but not great.The service is friendly, but not great.The price is typical, but not great.The decor is plain, but not great.I've been here before and will likely come again because it's easy, quick, and it hasn't poisoned me. Like I said at the beginning, it's just very extra ordinary, but not great.

The serve as far as clearing the dishes of the table was not great. The food was fine and the deserts were just ok. Not much variety. The biggest issue was when my daughter went to pay, she told them there was 5 adults and one senior. The woman questioned weather I was a senior and came right to our table. She was speaking loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear. I told her I can show id if she wanted proof. Then she said oh you look younger. It is only 10% off my lunch, not the whole bill so it was about $1.50. To embarrass our table like that was not right. Not sure I would ever go there again. Maybe better training on public relations would be in order here.
