Cameron Bandshell

Beautiful venue with an excellent bandshell and numerous musical events with ample seating in sun or shade . These free musical interludes are family oriented and seeing little ones and people of all ages dancing on the grass always brings a smile to my spirit. Many of the free concerts are polished and professional and all appear to please the crowds attending ! One of my fav Victoria experiences and I am lucky enough to have my apt balcony across the street from beautiful Beacon Hill Park

This is such a wonderful place in the city. The summer concert series this year was absolutely fantastic, and the young artist highlight afternoons were so neat to see! The City of Victoria has truly created something special with this space. There is plenty of seating, and there are a few picnic benches in case you want to eat while enjoying music. It is not the easiest to get to in a wheelchair, as the paths do not reach everywhere. But there are still ways to get close enough to enjoy the music.

FREE music in the summer on weekends at lunch hour and some evenings. A quiet crowd. Great for children. You're in the middle of Beacon Hill Park and they can run around during the music quite safely and nobody minds. I've seen little kids dancing to the music at the front.ACCESSIBLE for power chairs, mobility scooters, and power wheelchairs. The grass is reasonably level and quite firm.Public toilets nearby.Take the kids! Take the grandparents!Surrounded by trees and grass it's cool on a hot day. Better than Centennial Square which is all cement.Take a lawn chair for a shady spot or sit to the far left for shade.

There are so many free events in Victoria during the summer. The Cameron Bandshell is host to the Free B movie nights which we attend when possible. Bring a cushion & a warm wrap & enjoy.

Beautiful AreaGentle Strolling Paths past: Peacocks, Ducks Canada Geese, Hawks, Eagles, Owls and Great Blue Herons to name a few.

Great place during the summer to have a picnic and watch whatever is going on. In the summertime during August the Elsa have free bee movies on Friday and Saturday nights.

Lovely shady spot under the fir trees. Often frequented by musicians (from recorders to bagpipes) practicing early afternoons.
