Shogun Sushi

Last night sushi take out was with red and dry ginger, foul smelling soya sauce and made me questioning the salmon inside the sushi. I went to pick up my food just before 8pm and the place was empty. I use to love this place but the last 5 years is going downhill. From no one ever answering phone for lunch order, to yes old meny on the website and yes not giving 10%off if you pay cash as advertisingWont be going back for sure.

Sushi Mountain across the street is much better!!Walked in, and just took a seat since there was no one to greet us at the door. The waitress came by 5 minutes later and put the menus on our table and walked away. 5 minutes later she came back and I told her we wanted the All you can eat, she then took back the original menus and gave us the A.Y.C.E. menu and took our drink requests.Warm tap water 10 minutes later, and took 20 minutes for our alcoholic drinks to arrive. By this time I was already disappointed and starving!! Appetizers came out about 40 minutes after being seated and our maki rolls finally arrived on our table after 55 minutes of being seated. Was never checked up on after being served food. Terrible service and only one cook with one server. After half an hour of waiting for food we were just about to leave and say screw it.

We visited Shogun on a Friday night after searching Teppanyaki on Google Maps in the Durham region. Some reviews were great, others not so much, but we were glad we didn’t listen to those negative reviews because we were blown away by everything!It wasn’t busy, another family had just finished dining, so it was just the hubby and myself at the late hour, but the service was impeccable regardless. The staff was pleasant, great conversationalists, and very kind. They even educated us about Sake options, and most importantly, the food was divine! Everything had the perfect amount of flavour, and although we got the Shogun combo for 2, we were so full we had to pack away half the food! We will definitely be visiting again and recommend anyone in Durham region to visit or even make the trip because it’s totally worth the drive!

Ordered a meat dish but 3/4 of it was vegetables. The mango salad serving was extremely small as well as the mini spring rolls filled with nothing. They give you the least amount of food with mediocre taste for the max price.

At first you may be skeptical about this place based on the bs reviews and people complaining that the bathrooms are too small.If your coming here to eat the food is amazing made fresh. Excellent taste we had general tso chicken, steamed rice, eel roll, spicy salmon roll and goyzu.Well worth the money for cheap eats, definetly reccommend!

Food is fantastic and the staff is the friendliest I've ever met. Service can be a little slow, but everything is made fresh and very worth the wait. Prices are great, especially for the portion size, and I love the atmosphere.

I love getting the LEMON Chicken Lunch special from here, sad sometimes when I forget it's only available until 3pm but its well worth the money!I always call before ordering and by the time I hop in my car and drive there, it's ready to go! They accept all forms of payment (aside from cheque of course. For obvious reasons.) I have used credit, cash, and debit at their location.

If could submit a zero star rating I would. Where do I start?- service was very very slow- the dining area doubles as a child’s play room, there r toys and Disney movies playing in the back ground, identical to being in a child’s play room- the wash room doubles as storage closet, although clean, seemed very dirty- the food was bad- undercooked tempora which I believe was reheated in a microwave- did I mention how long it took to get the food? Simple order of two veg rolls and an order of teriyaki chicken took over 1hr- when we FINALLY got our food it was cold and undercooked- very poor ingredients and I’m very suspect of some of the cooking methods, I could hear the pressing of microwave buttons- how did I hear the microwave buttons? No music played to accent the already Terrible atmosphere- THE WORST dining experience I have had in a very long time
