Hamilton General Hospital Emergency Room

Came in here not being able to urinate. Everyone was very friendly. Had to have a ton of blood work done. I have a phobia of needles do to an earlier experience. All the nurses who poked me were very understanding and did an excellent job.

Perfect staffs here, friendly and professional, thanks a lot especially for the help of Jacky and Paul.The equipment are old, but clean, also the washroom.However, if you have an emergency, very emergency can’t wait too long, I think this might not be the very first choice, because we wait for 5 hours to see the doctor, and finally takes 8 hours in total.But if u are not that emergency, this hospital is good and friendly enough, I do see a few comments about racism, but as my experience, I don’t feel it.Anyway, thanks for all the help we get here. The worst place ever to be , went to Toronto ER , what a difference, better nurses better treatment, at Hamilton ER the nurse took my BP and said all is good , I had to tell her that it didn’t inflate and she took the previous person BP , after arguing she took my BP and it was 180 over 109 , then she took blood and she tried to take something of the table which was far and didn’t close the cap and the blood was everywhere.I know it’s overwhelming with COVID but I think most of the staff just taking it as an excuse not to work . The executive level should be on top of things , reading the reviews just confirm that it is the worst place to be .

Quick to let go of all medical staff that didn't take the cv1984 injection but forgot that wait times in Emerg would be 3x as long because of short staff. Brava system. You really proved yourself worthy of being the best Healthcare system in the world. Check this, I came in because I had a hand injury. I waited 6 hrs to get stitched up 3 hrs for Xray. In a short 8 hrs, I was gone. Only 2 doctors working the emergency area and mind you, the nurses and doctors were great to deal with because they're genuinely nice people, there were still rammed with patients and i get it, theyre doing their best but we aint living in NyC where population is 20 million. The wait still was the worst. Not to mention me being sent home without any info, follow up or how to change the bandage. I came back a week later. Signed in at emergency because I need to follow up myself I guess... got here at 530pm.. it's 9pm now and I'm still waiting. Try calling them for an answer you get to leave a voice-mail they'll return back within 3 business days. Backwards I tell ya.

Horrible place. After waiting around 5 hours, the doctor (Alim Pardhan) has lied and told me that my nose has no fracture/displacement, and refuse to show me the CT scan. Can you imagine when you touch a huge fracture/displacement in your up-right nasal bone by your finger, and your stupid doctor says there is no fracture/displacement, despite you're suffering from breathing problem after your concussion?He afterwards literary kick me and my sister out of the emergency room, and treated us in a very humiliated way. He didn't discuss with me my suffers at all, despite I have noticeable problem in breathing. He relied on the radiologist report, despite he have admitted that you seen asymmetric nasal bone which refers to a fracture or a displacement in that area. Horrible person, horrible place.I am extremely sad to see a faculty member teaching new resident doctors to be extremely aggressive! When I was young, I have learned that the main purpose of any medical doctor is to bring the mercy to their patients!

Worst hospital I've ever had the misfortune of being in... extremely under staffed... spent over 6hrs in emergency and didn't even see a doctor as I was told there were still over half a dozen patients ahead... unacceptable for an emergency section of a hospital to take over 6hrs only to have blood work done and not even see a doctor... save yourself the headache and go anywhere else...

You wont believe what happened in this hospital. My husband had severe pain in his right side of his belly and he was throwing up as well. we went there in the morning the gave him vomit bag thanks to them and let him wait 6 hours. the sign refer that he has appendex however the doctor refused to take CT scan she took sonar only and she said that she does'nt see anything. she gave him painkiller and send him home. At night he was in severe pain that he couldnt endure we went again and they found out that he has appendex after the CT scan and said how they send you home ? adain we have to wait till morning because they dont have room and the doctor going to come in the morning. Horrible service that all I can say.

In the past I had many negative experiences with emergency rooms when I had to bring my family members in. I was amazed when I came to this one for my own personal problems. Dr Allawati was thorough, attentive, patient and compassionate, all the nurses very skilled and professional. From the front door to security assisting me to the parking after discharge, all staff members were amazing. Thank you all for all your kindness and care.

I have a kidney stone gapping my urethra and it's probably about the size of a bocce ball. I have been stuck in the emergency bathroom for about 2 weeks now living off of toilet paper and the strange metal mailbox candy's. Throughout this experience I have infact discovered the the balls do in fact hold your urine after a while

Excellent service from when you first enter, register and then finally seen. The nurses and doctor were very nice and very compassionate. I have a phobia of needles due to a bad experience with blood work else where but, the nurse was very compassionate and kind. Outstanding work from everyone. Thank you for making my trip to emergency as painless as possible.
