one more favorite restaurant in van. flavors were perfect, i can say they handle the steak better than Vancouver any restaurant, even steak house. // Love the oyster (I’m not in to oysters) but they made it taste like escargots à la bourguignonne, love it!

Located in the gastown district, this area has many nice bars and restaurants. I consider L'Abattoir to be the brightest star in the vicinity. We have tried the chef's menu for the second time and the quality of food and service is as excellent as the first. My wine lover friend especially enjoyed the wine pairing that goes with the menu, while I personally loved the flavor in the steak tartar with blue fin tuna as well as the perfectly cooked squab. It is a busy restaurant so expect a healthy level of chatter around the table, yet easy to carry normal conversation. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, making this an excellent experience. Definitely a great fine dining choice after a nice stroll in gastown.

The chef menu was a wonderful taste adventure led by many guides. Each remove had its own person who explained the creations. The cocktails were a sensory experience themselves, but the wine pairings with dinner were worthwhile. I appreciated the primarily local ingredients and vineyards. The only thing that detracted from the experience was being out by the windows was a little cool for the dress I wore; a light shawl or long sleeves would have been ideal. The space with all the glass and courtyard was still enjoyable.

This place omg!!!! This by far is one of the best meals I have had in my life. And given the amount of places I have eaten at that says something. This place legit sent us to heaven and then got us back so we could eat more. The baked oysters - to die for. Nothing could ever match up. The pork tenderloin and sable fish were amazing and even the dessert we had with a caramel base was delishhhhh. I would go to Vancouver just to eat those oysters again. If you’re in town you absolutely cannot miss this place. Take this from a food lover and someone who has done her share of experimenting all across the world. Go here!!!!

What a wonderful night ! Delicious cocktails to start and the food was even better. We had the foie gras - simple, layered delicious and their baked oyster - easy to understand why it's their signature dish as it was a mouthful of heaven !We then split the day's kitchen feature which was a ribeye with mushroom jus (I'm simplifying) it was melt in your mouth decadence and paired so well with the lovely wine that was suggested.Food aside, what sets this place apart is the outstanding service! Attentive, friendly and you can see pride of work in everyone you encounter. These people take hospitality seriously.Special thanks to Prableen, Andrew and of course Jean Charles (JC) for taking such good care of us!Waiting on the summer menu to be back for a full meal but that doesn't mean I wouldn't pop by for oysters and drinks in the meantime!

I've had the pleasure of dining at this establishment multiple times, and on each occasion, I've been consistently impressed by the exceptional cuisine as well as the sincerely kind and attentive staff. Despite having a few challenging allergies, the staff has consistently gone above and beyond to accommodate me, ensuring that I feel completely comfortable and included. I cannot express enough how grateful I am for their hospitality.

I reluctantly visited her at the behest of a dear friend, I say reluctant because normally I wouldn't steer in this direction for the type of food I enjoy. I'm always extremely happy to be surprised and impressed, and this was one of those occasions.Walking in feels very warm and comforting, like slipping into a study filled with treasured books but instead filled with delicious bites.I had the lamb chop and ordered the oysters, which both were prepared perfectly and had an incredible amount of flavor. Will have to definitely stop in next time I visit Vancouver. Highly recommend.

L’Abattoir was the first stop of my Vancouver mini-moon and the staff there made sure that my husband and I were well taken care of — starting with some bubbly on the house to celebrate the occasion!Every single item that we tasted that evening was absolutely exquisite. The baked oysters are to die for and our duck and pork mains were perfectly executed. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. They helped us select the perfect beverages to go with our three courses. Knowing that we weren’t locals, they even made the effort to give us recommendations for the rest of our travels.

If you are looking for a high-quality French restaurant, you cannot miss this one. This restaurant offers excellent service and delicious food, making your dining experience even more perfect. Here, you can taste some carefully crafted French cuisine, some of which are designed by the chef himself on the set menu. These dishes are very tasty, and every bite can make you feel the chef's heart and passion. One dish that is highly recommended is the Pacific oysters, which are fresh, delicious, and sweet, and an absolute must-try dish.In addition, the service at the restaurant is also very good, with the waiters always being very enthusiastic and attentive, making you feel at home.Overall, this restaurant is a great choice, whether you are dining with friends or sharing food with family, it is a great choice.
