I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Michael Horowitz a few weeks ago to be fitted for a pair of custom orthotic inserts. Michael is very personable and professional. He walked me through (pardon the pun) the process of the fitting, which involved a couple different methods of high tech scanning of my feet.I was informed the new orthotics would take 2-3 weeks but were ready for pickup in a week.I’ve been wearing custom orthotic inserts for 15 years. These are by far the most comfortable and durable pair I have ever owned.Shortly after the break in period I went on a trip to Portugal where I walked over 10 km per day and climbed big hills. My feet never felt sore or fatigued like I have experienced with other insoles I have owned in the past.Thank you Dr Horowitz!

I want to share how happy I am meeting Dr Michael. I have got 2 pairs of custom orthotic inserts, one for my everyday sport shoes and one for my indoor work shoes. My feet feel much happier and comfortable comparing with the previous pre-made inserts. I can't wait next year to buy orthotics for my sandals. The bunion and ankle pain significantly have decreased since I have been wearing them on a daily basis. Additionally, the doctor is very nice and welcoming, very experienced and explained in details why that happened and how helpful the orthotics are, which is true. I self diagnosed Plantar fasciitis and did some research. Dr. Horowitz was the first name that came up for orthotics, even though he is a chiropractor. He seems pretty experienced with feet. I've had my orthotics less than a month, and so far, they seem to be helping my heel pain.I would recommend Dr. H.

I saw Dr. Michael Horowitz of Vancouver Orthotics today. He is a very knowledegable, a great communicator , accommodating, very professional, friendly, upbeat , and gives a great result. I always get my orthotics with him. He is also very trustworthy. His receptionist is knowledgeable and very helpful, as well.

DR. Michael was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained the step by step process, And made me feel very at ease. He also provided some helpful tips On how to ease my pain from my plantar fasciatis. I would highly recommend Going to see him.

I have inherited bunion issue and have been suffering from severe pain for months. I try to avoid a surgery as I want to keep my current level of activities. Then I found Vancouver Orthotics, read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Dr. Michael is a really nice and professional person. We had a pleasant conversation and he gave me a lot of confidence that with the help of the customized orthotics I can fix my bunion without necessarily dropping my active level. Also, they are really familiar, efficient, patient, and helpful with the insurance materials. I got my expenses refurbished from my insurer in a week.After my first visiting, my orthotics were ready in about 2 weeks. I tried them for a week before I wrote this review. At the beginning, I felt some unfamiliar pain in other parts (other than bunion) of my feet, but from a follow-up email sent by Dr. Michael I understand that the minor pains are normal and are signals that the orthotics are taking effects. After one week, not only the minor pains are gone, my pain level from bunion also significantly dropped. That brings me to write this review and hope this is helpful for someone who suffers from the same issue as me.

Reading a previous review, I could not say it better myself. In my opinion, I also felt that at best I met with an Orthotic Salesman rather than a Medical Dr. during my visit to Vancouver Orthotic Clinic.Dr. Horowitz was nice enough but I feel that I was rushed through the exam and quickly prescribed orthotics. When I picked up my orthotics (June 2022) he said they fit fine (on me and in my shoe) and told me that they should fix my Plantar Fasciitis. I didn't have PF. I had pain in the ball of my foot but I guess he didn't listen to my symptoms. Later another Dr. confirmed no sign of PF but I had a significant Plantar Plate injury and orthotics were not the answer to my injury but would help take the pressure off the ball of my foot while I was under treatment (so orthotics themselves are not a bad thing). After 8 months of not using the orthotic because they were too big for my shoe, I decided to call Dr. Horowitz and ask for an adjustment. Yes, 100% my fault for waiting so long. Dr. H told me no problem we can just book another exam and charge it to Blue Cross.When I told him that I believe I used up my 2023 allowance for this type of treatment he said; in that case, we will book it under a Chiropractic exam. When I told him that I was not comfortable booking it under a different treatment than I was actually receiving he told me that in that case, he could not help me as the free fitting time period was only 3 months. He did however give me the name of a shoe repair shop that would shave some material off my orthotic to help make it fit better. Then he sent me a video of him reinforcing that the guarantee / fitting period is only 3 months. As a result of the misdiagnosis, my experience being rushed through the process and the Dr. not making an exception to his 3-month rule, I do not recommend this Dr. or Vancouver Orthotics. Also to note Dr. H is a chiropractor and not a Podiatrist. I had a much much better experience with a podiatrist as the podiatrist did a full exam and found and successfully treated my problem.

I found Dr Horowitz to be extremely well versed in the science of orthotics, but also a very empathic person who is really invested in helping you to walk with greater ease. I would not hesitate to recommend him and the clinic.

Got my orthotics done with Dr. Michael and it was a game changer for my spine. Attending my HIIT classes have been much better as I have more balance, and as a consequence it is easier on my back.Dr. Michael was very patient with all my questions, as I reached out by email before having my appointment, also booking the appointment was so easy with the online system he has in place.The support paperwork provided by the doctor was well organized and my health extended insurance reimbursed me with no problems.Thank you, Dr. Michael!
