We have used Ted Smith for all of our accounting as well as other business related needs for quite some time and have been very pleased with the service received. We would highly recommend Ted to other professionals.

I am the President & Director of the Vesterra Group and we have been working with Ted Smith for a number of years. We are faced with a number of complexities in our business as a result of being a global business with activities on three continents. There is one person in my mind in Guelph that able to deal with the complexities that we deal with on a daily basis and that person is Ted Smith. I called their offices asking for help doing back taxes all the way back from 2011. They claimed I wouldn't get much back and they would charge 200 bucks per year to do it. I ended up doing it myself and got back almost 5000 bucks sooooo.... They don't come off as very good or honest.

We've used their tax preparation services for several years now. They are knowledgeable, courteous, very professional. The cost is very reasonable. We've been very pleased and continue to use their services.

Ted Smith of Baker Tilly has been our accountant for over 30 years. During that period, he not only takes care of our personal taxes, but has handled 5 businesses (helping with starting, selling, closing, tax benefits of holding several companies, etc.). Ted and his staff have always been very professional, accessible and approachable. 20 years ago we moved away from Guelph, but Ted is still our accountant for all of the above reasons. I highly recommend this firm.

Ted Smith has been my accountant for almost 30 years. He has handled my personal taxes, my business taxes and several corporations. I can not imagine an accountant who is more attentive to my needs as a client and of more value. I have moved through 3 companies to stay with Ted. He has also referred me to additional accounting team members who he works together with on my behalf. I am a small business owner in Guelph. I have been with Baker Tilly for several years. Earlier this year I was notified by CRA that my business was the subject of an HST audit. I have never been audited before and when I reached out to Baker Tilly for assistance I was told Ted Smith was on leave and was directed to another staff member to handle the audit. While the audit was ongoing I received a notice that Baker Tilly would see the audit through but due to capacity issues they were no longer able or willing to service my family or my business for taxation matters as they had done in the past. I went to the office and spoke to Todd Campbell who explained that since Ted was off they were having capacity issues and could no longer service all of their clients and that my business and my family had been vetted from their client list. I did not dispute this as I do not know their business well however upon completion of the audit I received a bill for $4633.00 which is far more than I have ever been billed by Baker Tilly in the past. What a parting gift !!! I spoke to other Baker Tilly customers who have experienced audits who were not billed anywhere near this much for similar services. I called Todd Campbell earlier today and later received a call back from Damien Condon. He was unable to provide me with a reasonable answer as to why such a hefty bill for these services. In spite of my complaint he was not willing to adjust the bill or provide a time sheet justifying the cost.I have never in my life complained about the services of any company as I too have a small business. I feel that I am a reasonable person and feel that such a large bill is punitive towards a client they no longer wish to service. I would not recommend the services of Baker Tilly to anyone and will be sharing my experience with several of my friends who still utilize their services!

We've been dealing with Ted for years and he's always taken the time to help us with all our financial questions and done a stand out job with our accounting needs. Highly recommend!!!
