Firing Time
I can't stop coming for classes with Melanie. It doesnt matter how experienced you are since Melanie will teach you to make beautiful ceramic pieces. My time at Firing Time has been and still is the most enjoyable and therapeutic experiences in my life.

I’ve completed two throwing 8 week sessions with Melanie, I’ve loved every bit of it. Melanie gives enough instruction without making it overly complex, because pottery is definitely a science! I find her ability to encourage and suggest different techniques really helpful, as there’s many ways to approach certain steps of the creation process while following some basics principles.By the end of my second round of classes, I already feel more confident and comfortable in my skills, and I’ve become very proud of the pieces I’ve made.

I’m so happy that I found Firing Time! Currently taking my second pottery class with Mel. She’s very knowledgeable, skilled, and is a natural teacher. Ceramics is a difficult craft to get into but she makes the process so easy to understand. If you are interested in pottery I recommend a class! Her shop also has lots of beautiful pieces for sale.

Fantastic class! First time doing pottery. I got lots of attention and she was so friendly. Made great pieces I get to gift to friends and family! Also, being new in Cobourg, this was a great experience!

Will never go back. The class is a rip off. We were rushed and did not get the full 2 hours. She started taking paint and clay away 1/2 an hour prior to the end of our time. She's only interested in money.Not worth $50 for maybe an hour if that.

Melanie really helped me learn some of the basic techniques needed to take my work from scary to a perfectly round bowl. Seeing how we progressed each week and what we were capable of creating was the best part. I had a really fun time given this was my first pottery class ever and am looking forward to doing more classes in the future!

Save your money for 45$ you can buy a whole set of dishes. She briefly instructed what she wanted us to do and left you to it. I received my piece broken and was told to glue it myself. So disappointed and would not recommend this to anyone, a complete waste of money.

Firing time has products that not only look amazing but are also super functional for day to day use! My family purchased a set of bowls and they’ve become a wonderful staple for family dinners. Owner is also very friendly :)

Can’t say enough good things about Firing Time! I recently took the 8 week pottery course with Melanie and had such a blast. I ended up taking home over 12 items of my own creation, learned so much, and had so much fun. I will definitely be doing another round in the near future. Melanie also creates many of her own beautiful works which she sells in shop, stop by and check it out!
