Chong Fat Food

Was excited to finally try this place. We got two dishes. Three kinds of meat noodle dish and a shrimp paste stuffed eggplant, green pepper and Tofu. Was such an amazing meal. Flavourful experience all around. Your tastebuds will be awoken with how delicious the food is. The service was great as the sever was super nice and friendly.TAKE CASH! They do not accept card payments. 5/5 experience. Will be back there again!

My parents have been taking me to this restaurant as a little girl since I was about 4 years old. I am 23 now and it is still open. And still just as amazing. It has never changed. The food and service is unreal. My family lives in Okotoks now so they cannot go as often but when we do, it is such a special treat. I recommend the Thai Style Chow Fun, Beef Hot Pot, Taro Root Fried Rice and the Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce. You wont be disappointed.

Friendly stuff, good food.

This is THE place, folks!! Small place but oh so good and quantity, fair price. They specialize in certain types of food only, mainly the soup noodle type, but honestly, everything is so so good. I died to eat there every year I went up to Calgary. They don’t disappoint!!!

Came here Sunday and it was quiet. Beat the rush hour. More people came at 1pm. First time here. The food was good! Was not greasy and not salty. Made just right. I was surprised how good it was. The service was good too. The portions were fair. Washroom was clean. I would definitely come back again.

Amazing place.... year after year, this place is only getting better and better. A young" couple with passion in keeping the original and traditional Hong Kong style fast and delicious food. You cannot find another place in Calgary with this quality.... Correction

Haven't been to this place for over 20 years. I had the urge to visit and just found out the Chinese noodle still has the biggest bang for the buck.In this case, I got duck, squid, a plate of vegetable for $12.5. This was far better than Vietnamese noodle and definitely Japanese ramen, where for most restaurants, that price only get one two pieces of chasiu. The downside is the location, parking in Chinatown is always a headache. The hot sauce was disappointingly mild.

A hidden gem in Chinatown. I usually enjoy ordering the curry beef brisket special. It comes with a side of rice and a drink. I always get HK milk tea or coffee with ice. There's also your typical Hong Kong / Cantonese food as well.The decor not much, but it's a quick service restaurant like a diner. The staff are friendly for Chinese restaurant standard. They know me as a semi regular and treat me well.My only slightly knock would be they are only open during lunch hour and not open for dinner. I would come more often, but I understand it's a small run family operation. They need their well deserved time off work too.

Shop has the heart of hong kong without the sass! Small little shop with short operating hours (11 to 4pm) but the food is really great reminds me of the small lunch places in hong kong but with actually friendly service! We started with the fish ball and cake noodle soup which is light in flavour but what takes it over the top is the chilli oil at the table. Next came the combination plate with roast duck, beef tongue, cuttlefish, and tripe. The duck was wonderfully tender and fatty, the cuttlefish has a great tender crunch to it. The beef tongue and tripe had a great texture to it. Next was the stuffed vegetables in black bean sauce. This one is off menu but, man is it worth getting (just show them this picture). Finally, we got the satay chow fun which had a slight spicy kick to it. Apparently, the noodles are made in house which shows in the quality with thier silky smooth rice noodles. Not only is the food great here the servers are so kind and attentive. Definitely worth checking out!

Everything was super delicious! Had the lunch special (cuttlefish and pork intestine), the four meat noodle soup, and the lo mein with braised beef. I wish I knew about this place sooner! The food came quickly and the couple that owns it are very friendly and sweet. This will be my new go to! Can't wait to try the other dishes
