I have eaten here many times but was very disappointed today. Went for lunch waited more than 1:30 hours before we were served cold Fish and French fries over cooked shrimp skewers with rock hard crispy onions. Told after the fact that they had a staff shortage in the kitchen. Should have been warned in advance if I go again I will be sure to ask on the wait times

Chicken wings were large and delicious, Chicken schnitzel sandwich was amazing.The pork belly burger was great. All the staff were friendly and attentive.

We stopped by for a late dinner on a Friday night. It wasn't very busy this night but wasn't slow either. The Bistro is located on the first floor of the Balmoral Hotel. We seated ourselves at a window that looks out at the Train Station Museum... Very happy with the view. The tavern was a little noisy and had an old bar feel with all the wooden furnishings. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. We ordered the Roasted Carrot and Avocado salad and the Greens, Beets and Seeds salad, both with grilled chicken. The salads were super delicious (the chicken was a little dry but tasty still). Service was good. I was pleasantly surprised with our experience here and recommend this Bistro.

Amazing food - duck tacos are a must have. Burgers were also delicious. The service was a little slow, but would definitely come back for the food.

Stopped in for a beer and a few snacks on a holiday in July. Took the seadoos across the lake and pulled up at the docks at the start park. It was a ten min walk to the bistro. The place wasn’t too busy but they seemed to be a little short staffed because the service was just a little slow. Enjoyed a local craft brew as well as soon regular fries and fried calamari. Everyone in our group thought the calamari were very tasty and done just right, and it had a nice aloi sauce with it. The plain fries were nicely done. I imagine the poutine would be pretty good. They have patio seating which is where we sat and was nice. Worth the stop.

Absolutely loved this place my sister and I both loved our food you get what you pay for the waitress was very polite and happy to serve us. Food amazing worth the drive .

I must say I was surprised how good the food was here!! Stopped here for lunch while sledding for lunch and it was excellent! New owner I understand from reading menu and interesting history. Much improved over years past. Highly recommend!

Great place to stop on your Sunday drive. Started things off with a glass of local brew (I tried the Whitewater Brewery porter) and delicious bowl of homemade soup (I had green pea with mint). Pleasantly surprised by the menu - local favourites together with fresh creative options such as Pulled duck tacos (soooo good!); Applewood smoked bacon burger; good variety - fresh taste and very colourful presentation; wish I had room to add one of the salads as they had a nice variety. I had no room for dessert but would have loved to try the cheesecake. Next time!

Very disappointing. Had a grilled chicken Caesar salad, supposed to be 4 oz of chicken, if it was more than two I would be surprised. The salad was cut 50/50 with Kale (cutting costs?) and it was mature kale leaves, sliced up small so... it was very chewy. The salad portion size was tiny (the waitress told me it was dinner sized) and for $22 it was a joke.The fish and chips my husband had were overcooked, the plate of fries beneath it were pathetic, dry and a tiny portion. I had a pop and he had a coffee. The whole meal was $60! It was a ridiculous price for the tiny portions and substitution of Kale.The service was slow, it took thirty minutes to get it and the restaurant was not busy. When the waitress came by to see how things were I said, well, not great and she just breezed off to another table, uninterested in learning more.Save your money. Go to the fry truck. What ticks me off more than anything is that we were celebrating something and it was our second time out since Covid. It would have been nice to get a decent meal. Won't be back.
