Almaguin Highlands Golf & Country Club (Katrine Golf)

Amalgam Highlands Golf was a wonderful experience for our family of 4. The 9 hole golf course is fun and challenging. They even provide golfing lessons for a fee. We stayed on one of the RVs. There was a propane BBQ available. We cooked all our food outside. A tent with a mosquito net beside the RV provides you shadow and peace from bugs. Besides the RV also there is a fire pit just for you to enjoy. We rented a golf cart during our stay and it was wonderful. The showers and washrooms are at very short distances but the kids loved the ride. There are raspberry bushes all around the property and they are delicious. We enjoyed walking in the afternoon and pick up some to eat meanwhile enjoying the amazing views. There is a swimming and fishing area. We catch some nice Bass. Also, there is a Trout pond, but you need to arranged with Theo to go there. Paddleboat, canoe and kids kayaks are available to enjoy the Magnetawan river that crossed the property.On Friday night Theo hosted a Nature Walk. We learn a lot about the area's history, nature and we were able to saw a Bear Paw track.Short distance you can enjoy Lake Doe Municipal Beach, shallow and perfect for kids. A General Store and Food Truck is also at very short distance. 6 minutes drive north on HWY 11 you have a Tim Hortons, Gas Station, Value Mart and LCBO. If you like adventures you should visit Brooks Falls. Just 8 minutes drive from the Golf course. The falls are perfect for an entire day trip.

I learned how to golf on this course 35 years ago and still love it. This is a great family course. Theo is so welcoming and his rates are great. My four children fell in love with golf and have Almaguin Highlands to thank!As a seasoned golfer I still thoroughly enjoy the challenge this course offers. The lower holes run around the Magnetawan River. The grass is plush and the scenery is breathtaking. The upper holes are located on dry, sandy soil and conditions have always been a challenge. I commend Theo on making sure that the course is always adequate, despite limited revenue. He is continually upgrading the course and has recently added fairway irrigation.It’s been a supreme pleasure enjoying our summer golf at Almaguin Highlands and we thank Theo and his crew for keeping the course going!

This was my family’s third time staying at the RV park. The RV was large, clean and contained all the necessities. The views on the property are stunning and the water is beautiful to swim in. We also enjoyed using the kayak, canoe and standup paddle-board. We saw many beavers, two deer and two otters while canoeing. Theo is an amazing host and always takes us on informative nature walks. We look forward to returning again.

Theo, the owner, gave our family of four gold lessons and we played at the beautiful course. Beautiful course and the staff was very helpful in everything we needed.

This is a warning to anyone booking without seeing the property and trailers first. I was shown “the nicest trailer” by owner Theo to book for my husband, however when he showed up he was placed in a dilapidated, mouldy trailer with a MOUSE. It was in absolutely terrible condition. Theo not only mislead me but when I asked to discuss it and get my money back he told me he was “helping me out and to stop the nonsense”. He is a terrible business person and should not be trusted. Be aware if you’re booking a trailer here you don’t know what you’re going to get.

Just got back from a weekend Golf trip with my Dad, brother and Cousin. It was a great trip.The course: holes 1-7 are in pretty decent shape. The view around you is 9/10. I mean your up in muskoka, what isn't beautiful about that. Holes 8 and 9 are brutal. Thr greens are okay but the fairways are pretty much dirt.The staff: Theo is amazing. One of the friendliest people i have met. His son Vincent is constantly working hard and looking to go out of his way to make you feel welcome.The Camping: we camped in a tent. The site was clean, had access to water and hydro. The rates are super cheap.Overall: We had worked out a deal for unlimited golf with full access to carts for the weekend. We were aware of a Sunday tournament so we wouldn't have the carts past 8:30am. Upon arrival, we got notified about a saturday tournament so once again we lost the carts for about 4 hours. The trip was awesome nonetheless. Very easy going owners made the weekend much more better.Can't wait for next year.

This Course was my first course I had ever played on, It was a great place to learn how to get the ball to the hole without feeling like your slowing people down. The course is as well kept as possible for the Sandy Earth this area offers and the Manager has astounding customer service which was a great thing since I was new. Invited to come in for a beer after 9 holes and the atmosphere of the chalet is quite comfortable. I'm sure Comparing this course to something like Grandview or The Ridge wouldn't be appropriate due to their class but for a fair priced, Fairly easy course the Katrine Golf Course is a good place to check out if your in the area.

Great place to golf and extremely friendly staff. Awesome scenery, laid back staff and challenging golf. I golfed all over the near north and prefer golfing at Almaguin over all the others.

This golf course has incredible views on every hole and has a unique picturesque layout that contains some challenging holes as well as holes that are just a blast to play. These are by no means Augusta greens but for the price and the hospitality of the staff it has become a staple visit for all my trips to the cottage, can not go wrong for a fun, scenic inexpensive round of golf! ⛳️

The owner (Theo) is a very friendly and helpful guy. Great golf course for golfers of all levels! The cottages here are nice to stay in as well.
