Nick was wonderful with our puppy. After the very first lesson of six we saw huge improvements in his behavior because Nick gave us amazing tools and basic skills we needed for our first puppy in over a decade. People comment on how well behaved our pup is everyday and some of it comes naturally but I think Nick really polished our little guy and helped him shine! Thank you a million times and I’m looking forward to more sessions in the future.

Nick went above and beyond for our girl Indy during her 2 week B&T program. Not only did he train her to be a well rounded dog, he also loved and cared for her as if she were his own. Indy was a terrified 5 month old Belgian Malinois puppy when we adopted her. It was hard to take her to public places or go for walks without her becoming very reactive towards people and other dogs. Through lots of love and patience she finally began to come out of her shell - Nick was the icing on the cake. He took her training to a whole other level and now we have a very well behaved, calm, happy 10 month old puppy. She can now spend the rest of her life enjoying all the world has to offer instead of being terrified of it. Thank you Nick for giving us this new found freedom. Totally worth every penny!!!

Nick has done an amazing job of training Luna and patiently explaining everything to me. The two week train and board produced excellent results and is well worth the investment.Nick is very responsive and provides excellent guidance and is always available if you have questions. Extremely thankful to have been able to work with Nick for our very excitable 15 month old Golden Retriever - Sal. We've owned many dogs, and are very familiar with training, however Sal presented some behaviours we just couldn't solve on our own. Despite all our efforts, multiple sessions of classes, lots of time and effort daily... We had not experienced a board and train before and were hesitant to trust someone with our companion for this long and so completely (2 weeks), however Nick gave us confidence in our decision. His communication was exceptional, we were updated as often as we needed. His care for Sal also exceptional. We are blown away with his training. Sal is definitely on his way to being a perfect gentleman! He came home able to heel off leash, after we had tried everything possible just to stop him from pulling. Nick was great at teaching and accommodating a time for all our family members to learn. He made sure Sal's transition home would go smoothly. His follow up has been amazing. He has educated us on the right tools (ones we'd never considered), to be successful moving forward. He listened to all our concerns and helped us problem solve each one. We've worked with trainers, done all the classes, but can't say they compare at all with what we learned working with Nick. Thank-you so much Nick!!!!

We enrolled our two adult Australian Shepherds in the two week board and train with Nick at K9SIDEKIX in February. They never had any formal dog training prior to sending them to the board and train program. On walks they were reactive and continuously pulled. We had tried so many different harnesses and collars to combat this with no success. Previously we had looked into other dog trainers in the area and were turned off by the type of training or care they showed our dogs. As soon as we met Nick and saw how he interacted with our dogs we instantly felt comfortable and trusted him. It was clear that he was passionate and loved what he does and truly just wanted to train our dogs (and us) so we can all have the best life. Initially we weren’t sure what to expect from the board and train but were absolutely blown away and wish we would have done it years ago! Nick was extremely thorough and was always there to answer any of our questions or reassure us throughout the process. I think it was a harder adjustment on us than it was for our dogs!When we dropped our dogs off for the board and train one of our dogs was having an issue with their paw/pad. Nick immediately helped us figure out the problem and took steps to make sure that our dogs were happy and healthy. Shout out to Joanne and Pet Grocer in Alliston for helping us figure out this issue and getting our dog set up on a treatment plan! We had been trying to solve this issue with our vet without luck and were blown away by the difference in his health and how quickly the issue was clearing up. Nick never complained and went above and beyond for our dogs.Now for the actual training….we are amazed! We can walk both dogs together on their regular collars without pulling! This has been absolutely life changing for us as we can now confidently go on walks without frustration and know that they will listen to us. Not only are they amazing on leash but they can heel off leash. This has given us so much confidence when we take them to the park or come across other dogs. They also have learned to be calmer indoors, and are so great with place, sit and down. We can’t wait to continue the training Nick has taught or dogs (and us)!We have already been recommending Nick and K9SIDEKIX to all of our friends and family!

Maverick completed a one week board and train with Nick recently and my only regret is not doing it sooner. He use to pull on walks, and jump on people, and react to other dogs, so I was always afraid to let him off leash.In one week, he learned to walk heel with no leash and is doing great with recall. I’ve been able to take him to the park to play with other dogs and have some fun. Even managed to have him join my family on a patio for lunch with no issues, which I never would have attempted before. So nice that he has learned some manners and I feel confident enough to bring him more places with us. He gets more exercise now, and is calmer and happier at home as a result.Can’t thank you enough, Nick!

I brought home a Vizsla puppy in the spring and wanted a professional dog trainer to train Luna for the best off-leash reliability. I work on a golf course; Luna comes with me to work daily and I wanted off-leash freedom for her, which meant also having excellent recall abilities. A friend of mine had recommended Nick from K9 Sidekix, and he did not disappoint at all! We had a few private lessons plus the 2 weeks board and train session with Nick. This was our third session with Nick, as we have on going issues with our dog, all different problems, Nick is amazing and knows how to really engage with your dog. He is very firm, yet the dog knows that he cares for them as well. Nick also sends you in writing the session that you just completed so that you can refer to anytime. Everything Nick has asked us to do with our dog has worked, and if for any reason you are having issues implementing the commands Nick is a text or phone call away.

We had a great experience taking our lab puppy to Nick’s training classes. As first time puppy owners we felt that it was important to get a good start, and Nick’s classes were the right place to go.He is friendly, punctual, professional and very knowledgeable. Always very good at addressing the group as a whole, but also helping everyone individually if we had any questions. Our puppy Riley was always excited to go to classes and very eager to learn. We now get a ton of compliments on how well behaved he is when we take him out on walks, and we have Nick to thank for that! We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dog trainer.
