Sucrerie de la Montagne
This was a fantastic experience and one we would repeat. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the sheer beauty of the surrounding forest of maple trees, aspen, and more. Gorgeous examples of local flowers interspersed amongst very well maintained cozy rustic buildings, each with a well documented (photographs and guide stories) purpose. Our personable and humorous guide and his family took us on a trip back to a simpler time where a slower pace and quality reigned as king of the forest. They had many options for activities, but as we were on a guided tour, we enjoyed stories, share a family style meal accompanied by a local musician, followed by a rousing round of playing spoons, a refreshing walk along some of the trails, and some shopping in their store. I never knew there were so many things one could do with maple syrup and so far, this has been the sweetest" adventure yet!"

I drive all over Ontario and Quebec and this place is one of the best . The food was fantastic, the place is true to its history, the music excellent, the service was great. They got it right. If you are looking for a Quebecois experience to the Cabane a Sucre, this is it .

Worst cabane à sucre experience ever. Food was terrible (small portions, eggs were gross and watery, long wait times, pea soup was actually just water with raw beans in it….) after waiting over 45 minutes to be served as we watched other groups who arrived way after us get served prior to us. The live music could have been a nice touch had it been played at a tolerable level. We had to scream to hear each other and most of the group left with a sore throat from the experience (the musicians themselves were good, I blame the establishment for playing way too too loudly making it extremely uncomfortable). Despite all this, the real problem with this place was the service. After failing to serve us for 45 minutes, failing to refill our water at any point in time and generally just not having a knack for her job, our waitress did not see fit to clear our table at any point during this 2-hour experience despite being asked to do so on multiple occasions. The table was already cramped after fitting all 7 of us into a 6-person space so eating with dirty dishes stacked all around the food and our plates was extremely unpleasant and borderline gross (especially since the gross pea soup sat untouched by any of us for the whole meal). Definitely do not recommend this place.

We enjoyed our time here. Food is good (Unlimited Servings), our waitress, Chloè (I apologize if I spelled her name wrong) is amazing, respectful and down to earth! Only bad thing we had is that one of the women almost tried to kick us out and tried to send us to the back of the line, even though we were in line and patiently waiting for our turn. Good thing the man with a long beard (sorry if I didn't get his name) had our backs and we was seated at last. Other than that we had a great time, we will come back next season for sure!!

We went there for a sugar shack. What we really liked is the atmosphere and live music in the dining room, felt like in Lords of rings filming. But there were too many people and service was very slow, so we spent around 20 minutes in a line to be sited and around two hours to eat our food (several rounds). Food taste is below average, it didn't feel like a homemade, except syrup of course. Portions are very limited. The guy who was poring syrup on snow was doing it very very slowly and wasn't pouring much syrup, and was absolutely not friendly. In my opinion, this experience is heavily overpriced, since it costed $60 per person (tax in.) and the service didn't meet the price

The food was delicious. But portions are small, and we have to wait and request more. Then wait some more. I'm grateful they didn't squeeze the table full, I would have left if sitting at full capacity (we were 8/12, with strangers, and it was tolerable). Music is good but very loud. The place is well appointed. Good experience overall.

This sugar shack was the highlight of our trip to Quebec province. Pierre, the owner, was very welcoming. The music, decoration and food made the experience very authentic and fun. We had a great time there and would definitely recommend it to anyone that is going to Montreal area.

The food is amazing and the maple syrup is the best. There's a great atmosphere with all the performances and it's great for group dinners. Only problem is that it takes a long time to get there since it's in the middle of a forest.

We we on our way to Montreal and decided to go to a cabane a sucre" on the spur of the moment. It was very late in the season and thought that the place would be closed. But to our surprise we got to enjoy not only the food but also the entire older days experience. Well worth the cost. We did not use the hotel."
