Favorite vegetarian restaurant so far. Went for brunch. The plates were very small and in the expensive side but quality was top notch. The asparagus dish was perfect, especially the sauce on it. My friend got the cavatelli which was also great

We went to The Acorn for our anniversary dinner in June 2023 and had the Chef's tasting menu.Let's start with the good, the atmosphere was nice and service/staff were fantastic, giving us a free glass of champagne as we were celebrating. The food is unfortunately what has led to the three star review. Everything was cooked nicely and tasted great for what it was, but where the Acorn seemed to fail was in two key areas.1. Despite being charged per person, each dish is served in a single large plate and you have to go through the faff of trying to divvy it up between you into smaller plates. The real insult to injury is if you're part of a larger party, the table next to us had three people but we're also being served the same single plate between them, despite paying 50% more than us, hardly fair on them.2. They go through the effort of really stressing how everything is seasonal/local, but the problem with this is ultimately that a lot of the food tasted the same. When we visited beans seemed to be what was available at the time, as the majority of the dishes had the same beans. These particular beans had the unfortunate distinction of being quite bitter, despite the best efforts of the chefs to make them taste better. We were hoping that by visiting a vegetarian-only restaurant that more effort would've been put into making the food more varietal, however the local/in-season concept left us with a more stereotypical version of what people think vegetarian food is.Other small complaints include the dessert (down to personal preference) and the fact that the menu changes daily and so you can't really make an informed decision before you book. I hope they consider a seasonal/quarterly set menu in the future.Overall, we still had a nice time and I would visit again but probably wouldn't go for the tasting option.

There's no words to really describe my love for The Acorn.Throughout 2021-2022, both my partner and I have visited 8-9 times during the year- to the point where the staff began to recognize us.We've celebrated everything from birthdays, anniversaries, and even just a fun night out here- it's especially fun to bring people who aren't vegetarian or vegan and let them experience their first meal at The Acorn. One of the most memorable times, was during my birthday last year (January 2022) when Dine-Out Vancouver was currently on. We were served a full vegan mushroom course- which my boyfriend and I were pumped for, my dad and his fiancé (who are not mushroom enthusiasts) were not, but decided to try the dishes anyway (and if they didn't extras for us!)Needless to say, almost anyone I've brought to The Acorn has had an amazing time and we can't wait to come back for more!

The Acorn was an amazing experience for us several years ago. A modern fusion restaurant featuring extraordinary vegetarian and vegan fare.Being from out of Vancouver we returned a year ago hoping for the same experience. The food seemed to have slipped a notch but was still very good. But we were disappointed with the service. We had a reservation for three and had one late comer. They were very stiff" with our guest who wanted to order a la cart after the two of us had already ordered. Additionally

Visit The Acorn for the Chef’s Menu and was blown away by it.Vibe: Small space but a very chic and neomodern design.Service: It’s 10 dishes across 2 hours very beautifully curated and well served. Our table was never quite empty but also never overwhelming. The crew was super friendly and happy crowd.Food: Few of the specials (which rotates daily) were mind blowing. Right from the Amuze through the Dessert you would never feel repetition of flavours even if ingredients repeated. At the end of every course you feel that course was the best, thats says a lot about the awesomeness of the food.Would visit again in a different season to see what the chef has to offer.

Best meal in Vancouver hands down. You have the get the chefs tasting menu (it's a reallllly great price too). Every single dish was unbelievable and unique. It makes me want to be a full time vegetarian. Also I never want a real" oyster again after these mushroom ones. Everything was SOOOO GOOD. I'm obsessed."

Brunch was outstanding. We made a reservations to get in a day or two before and it so worth it. Superb service, lovely seasonal menu. The gnocchi with hedgehog mushrooms and waffles with fried mushrooms was incredible. We finished by sharing a fresh fruit dessert.

Delicious dishes, great selection!Had the chef’s menu (tasting menu) and all the dishes were great and original.I recommend booking since it can take some to be seated, but overall it was tasty and pleasant experience.Don’t forget to ask for the menu to see what they have and to expect what you may get in the tasting menu plates!Staff are knowledgeable, kind, with positive energy and attitude. Unique place if you’re looking for a Michelin recommended restaurant.

We celebrated a birthday with the chef’s tasting menu. Food, service and atmosphere were great! The amount of food was perfect, and we were full by the dessert. Couple dishes were a bit on the saltier side but overall we enjoyed everything we had. Highly recommended!
