Robertson House Retirement Community by Spring Living

My mother has lived at Robertson House for the past 8 years. Over that time the staff has done an excellent job taking care of her. The only reason for leaving is to get her closer to my new house.I highly recommend Robertson House to anyone who is looking for accommodation for their loved ones. My mother spent almost 9 years at Robertson House. She felt very safe and comfortable there. She especially enjoyed the care and nursing staff who were always attentive and available. Robertson House has a very cozy atmosphere where she feltwell supported.

I've been a service provider for Robertson House for several years now and can't say enough about the friendly caring staff and overall warm welcoming atmosphere. Truly a place to call home.

The staff Robertson House is AMAZING. They are so caring with my mom and really go above and beyond and keep us informed with her care. We knew it was the place after we had an amazing tour with their sales consultant, she really took the time with us and listened to all our questions and concerns and made us feel at ease in making this big decision.Thank you to everyone for all you do!

I have mixed experiences with Robertson House. I think it is a fabulous place for seniors who are cogent and able to ambulate and are on a budget. The atmosphere is welcoming and just the right size of population to make friends, but not to be overwhelmed by the cacophony of noise of some other residences. There are planned activities and excursions. The food is okay and the staff are warm and helpful and there is a small hair salon on site.On the other hand, there isn't enough staff to care for a senior who needs extra care. An expensive premium is required for extra care however, staff are very busy and cannot be relied upon to take the necessary time to provide assistance.The only way to make sure the resident has his or her needs met is for family and friends to be highly involved and active in monitoring the emotions, mental stimulation, physical health and finances (especially if paying for additional services) of the resident and in communicating with staff.I cannot emphasize enough my recommendation that all residents see an out of house GP as the in-house doctor is prone to making mistakes and will not, under any circumstances, directly communicate with anyone other than staff and the resident, even if the resident is incapable of comprehension.

My mother moved into independent living at Robertson House in May 2021. She was welcomed very warmly by all of the staff. In September 2022 she had a fall, broke her hip. Upon returning home from the hospital, she was moved to the assisted living floor for a higher level of care. The staff work very hard and demonstrate a high professionalism, in their care of Mom. Outbreaks of Covid and resulting lockdowns in the home have certainly made things challenging for both the residents and staff, but Mom's excellent care has continued on with very best efforts. My communication with management, and other staff, in particular the Health and Wellness Director and her nursing staff, has been exemplary. Mom has made friends, enjoys the fun banter with the PSWs, actively participates in exercise classes and other events happening in the home and feels safe and sound in the comforting environment. Mom is not one for anything fancy or over-the-top amenities like salt-water pools, cinemas, etc. that higher-end homes provide. She is content with simple home-like comforts, which Robertson House, in my opinion, is all about.It is an older building and in need of updating and modernizing, and since ownership changed from Revera to Spring Living, in May 2021, this has been a work in progress, but of course, it takes time. I am happy and satisfied with what I've seen so far. There have been staff changes but the continuence of excellent care has not been adversely affected. I would highly recommend Robertson House. We would like to thank all of the staff at Robertson House for all of the care our mother received during her time there. Our whole family was warmly welcomed the day that she arrived and all of the staff including the director, the receptionists and activity directors always made us feel at home. They were especially kind to our dad who had spent some time in respite there but continued to come weekly to visit his wife. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the nursing staff and personal support workers who were very attentive to our mother's needs and were diligent in helping to keep her comfortable during her final days. This is a very special place full of very kind people. We were lucky to have been a part of this community.

What a positive experience I have had dealing with Robertson House. I had to find assisted living accommodations for my 96 year old uncle. From the moment I met with the manager till now I am so happy with the professionalism and customer service. The staff and residents are so friendly and have welcomed my uncle with open arms. He is so happy and is really enjoying his stay. I would not hesitate to recommend Robertson House for your family member. They made this transition so much easier . Thank you all!

Our family was very pleased with the comfort and care that our father received at Robertson House. The staff were very compassionate and excellent at lifting the spirit of their guest. Sadly his stay was only six weeks, but the during that time our concerns for Dad’s well being and safety were considerably reduced knowing that his condition was being closely monitored. Thank you .
