The Blue Chair
So I have been here a couple of times now and had pretty good food both times - service has been... fine. Couple things that hold me back from a more full-throated endorsement is the pricing. Like those personal nachos for 12 bucks were an OK deal, but then the 1-2 OZ side of guacamole was five bucks! which just leaves you feeling gouged. As for breakfast it was fine, but at 17 bucks that is running up against a lot of better breakfast places.Also being handed an envelope to tip the music is weird in a world where we are using cards or phones, if you aren’t carrying cash you feel like cheapskate.

Quality checks were done, but things were just really sloooow. I couldn't order my first choice because they ran out of a sauce. Backup choice was pretty good though. Probably not the full experience of Blue Chair, but things are never perfect. I LOVED listening to Charlie Austin on the piano.

Delightful menu and special features..Bartender d'un talent et d'une compétence extraordinaires.Best whisky sour I've had.Last time there, I perused the menu, I wasn't overly hungry, so I ordered their house salad. I have never in my life been excited about a house salad.Blue Chair changed that. This was far beyond most peoples expectations of what a house salad is. Loaded with seeds and nuts, cheese, all manner of fresh vegetables, atop lush, crisp greens. I was satisfied beyond my imagination.My partner got one of the features, glazed salmon, grilled asparagus, and a delicious risotto. As she was pregnant, the salmon had to be cooked through. Despite this, it was tender, succulent and seasoned perfectly.We shared a orange/citrus crème brûlée. I've never been a fan of crème brûlée. I will certainly be ordering theirs, it was a revelation.Our server was attentive, not at all overbearing. He was very friendly, jocular, and very kind. I cannot say enough great things about this establishment, the chef/BOH, bartender and our server.This place is outstanding.

We brought a visiting family member from overseas here and we all enjoyed our experience. Relaxed with an uncomplicated but interesting menu. When the locals eat at a place regularly you know it's good. No egos or swagger or pretension. Our waiter Sam was first-rate. We finished our meals with some black sambuca and enjoyed a nice walk home in the sun feeling fine.

Awesome place. Coincidentally ended up going on a book release night where they had the author read aloud to everyone and it was a very pleasant experience! The food was absolutely fantastic, some of the best dishes my girl and I have ever had, but was definitely on the more expensive side. Would definitely recommend trying it out at least once!

Live jazz with brunch?!? Heck yes!! Great food, wonderful live music up on stage (but easy to talk with your mates), one of the best mimosas I've ever had,... I'm definitely going back even though it's not at all in my neighborhood! Tip your server & the musician!!

Look at photo from Over the top Restaurants and compare with The Blue Chair if they dare post.The blue chair had the Worst beni ever, more plate than food, no flavour. Price of food was overpriced Service was terrible, waitress has a rude attitude, no cutlery had to ask. Beni was terrible 2 egg beni on tiny tiny bread, no flavour. 3 poor pieces of fruit, 5 plain tiny tiny boiled potatoes. Total breakfast with soda and cranberry pop for two was $56.00 ??????Pictures were satanic or dark warlock face with horns . Do not ask waitress her opinion on paintings or mention your opinion, she got upset. Very rude waitress never made eye contact.I will never recommend this place. I never left a tip.Go the the ON THE ROCKS at 118st and jasper for brunch on Sunday. The eggs beni is $8.00!!!!! and amazing. Not only great potatoes crispy but it was the beni sauce was amazing. The service was exceptional and the music great. Look at the beni ( picture) we got from On The Rocks and see if it matches what you got.Hey blue chair, one !!!!! beni is not over $16.00 .Our meal at Over The Top Restaurant with fresh coffee( unlimited) was superb. Look at the photo I took at Over the Top RestaurantStop!!!!! going to The Blue Chair with their high prices, terrible beni and poor service.!!!!!!!!

Spacious, comfortable restaurant with a small but delicious menu. We had very good service and the ambience was great. We were not there for any nights when there was music. The bison burger was great and I would definitely order the carrot cake again.

Very disappointing, haven’t been here for about 5 years and is really bad, food is underwhelming and bland and very small portions! $24 for eggs Bennie with no flavour..the waitress was probably the rudest server I have met in a while and in hindsight we should of walked out straight away.The kids breakfast was also tiny and the banana bread was slightly salty and pretty gross.The only part that was enjoyable was the 2 musicians they where fab.If you are the owner to this establishment I would highly recommend getting a new chef and finding a new waitress, they clearly have no passion in customer service or quality flavourful food.AVOID was a waste of $130
