Dr. Siva Appavoo

Reading some of these reviews makes me wonder if Dr Appavoo has a moustache twirling evil twin. He has always been extremely patient and kind to me, even though I know I can be a difficult patient. If you're actually willing to work on yourself I can't imagine a more diligent and careful specialist, and I've seen many of the alternatives in the region.

Not very good in the listening department - expect a very abrupt answer.Asks for and assumes you have kept detailed diaries. Does not seem to care how much you're struggling, will not prescribe or adjust medications. Does not realize many people cannot afford counselling or the waitlists.Seemed somewhat rude and condescending, and his receptionist struggles with English, thus making followups and communication extremely difficult.However, he makes a point that he cannot waive a wand and cure someone's problems instantly, and medication does not instantly solve problems such as ADHD, Anxiety, Depression etc.He may be abrupt but he didn't sugar coat things and does get straight to the point. He certainly seems qualified and educated, even if it isn't said in the kindest way.

Found him to be rude, lacking empathy and has no listening skills. Felt I burdened him by going to see him.

Avoid coming here.

He was 15 minutes late for my appointment with no apology. He focused on the fact that I chose not to get vaccinated, called me an anti-vaxxer and that we tend to be hostile. Meanwhile it is none of his business and I was not there for that purpose. Felt that he could have my issues solved in two sessions. Put me in box. Judged me. His body language showed me he did not believe my answer about my drinking habits. He made it clear he was against the use of marijuana therefore he did not have an open mind about anything. He made me feel worse. I had to cancel my second appointment due to getting sick, I tried to reschedule 3 days later and left a message. Never heard from that office since. Probably for the best. Terrible doctor.

Highly professional and cautious in his methods...Honestly, I'm surprised to see the 1-star reviews here!
