Dave is great coach and the atmosphere in Toshido is top notch. It is not uncommon to see UFC fighters dropping in to train. Leave your attitude at the door and have an open mind and you will get what you are looking for at Toshido. My boys have trained for the last 3 years under Toshido MMA and they have grown mentally and physically stronger because of their training and coaches. Confidence is huge for children as they figure out life. My boys don’t have worry about bullies. They respect their peers and have to tools to smash when necessary.See you soon Coach we will be back!

Dave is amazing at providing unmatched training. It doesn't matter if you are a professional fighter or a single mom trying to get a work out in, you will be treated the same and get the same level as attention in the classes. He has also brought up a stable of amazing fighters and athletes who have given me and others countless lessons on positions and techniques on their own time. Can't recommend this place enough and yoy won't find anywhere better in the Okanagan to train.

Best gym in town !! Great, welcoming, and amazing staff ! And the coach is amazing, hands down ..... My boys attend 2 classes and they ABSOLUTE love it . Coach David absolutely loves his job! I can't wait till my 3 year old attend. The gym is very clean, organized, and we'll loved! The staff definitely take care of their establishment!! Highly recommend

When I walked in I was overwhelmed with the sheer size of the place, I was used to training in little warehouse spaces that were dark and dingy. This place was huge, David Lea is the head instructor whom came up shook my hand and welcomed me.Proceeded into a class of nogi BJJ it was great, very technical instruction. There was no intimidation and I immediately felt at ease, which to anyone who has ever walked into a martial arts, or any combative sport gym knows is not common. Great place to learn at any level, or age for that matter.

I've been training with David Lea for over 10 years underneath the Toshido banner. Toshido is known for its MMA fight team, which has brought numerous fighters from beginner to world class athlete fighting in the biggest promotions, UFC, and Bellator. Also Toshido isn't only just for MMA fighters. David Lea offers classes for children and the average person just looking to get in shape and learn something new, while having fun. Overall great atmosphere and accepting of all different types of people. A great place to start your martial arts journey :)

David Lea is a fantastic instructor. Dave can train both professionals and hobbiests equally well, a quality most instructors do not have. Dave creates a fun environment where everyone can work towards their goals. Kelowna is lucky to have such high level instruction.

I love training here. I can have fun with the team and prepare properly for competitions. I always feel safe, respected and appreciated. The coaches are clear and helpful, the students are skilled and respectful. We laugh and have fun during every class but stay focused and get results, and when we are done training there's never any hesitation or shortage of people offering to help clean up or disinfect the mats.
