Centigrade Home Comfort

After getting approval for the Greener Homes Energy Grant, we searched for a company to install the 3 head mini split system we were approved for. Reached out to 3 contractors for a competitive quote and in speaking with a satisfied coworker, we included Centigrade on our list. The owner showed up on Sept 7, 2022 and was very mannerly and professional. He provided us with a quote and we chose his services from the 3 we received quotes from. We were scheduled for install on December 13, 2022. On December 12, the day before, the owner reached out and said he had bad news. He went to the supplier to pick up our order for installation and claimed it was shipped to Saint John New Brunswick instead of St. John's NL and he would reach out when it was redirected. This is where radio silence began. I reached out on Dec 19 asking for an update...no response. December 29...no response. Jan 20, 2023....no response. In addition to this, about 6 voicemails and multitudes of attempts at his business number and his mobile. He has not answered a call from a number of phones I called from, nor returned any messages and none of them were anything but politely requesting information on an installation date. They also ignored text message requests for updates and information. The coworker who recommended him had an install and he answers service calls from their home about any servicing/repairs. We engaged him because he promised a service that we were very eager to get done. I find this treatment of a customer very unprofessional, disrespectful and deceitful. To lead someone into a false sense of satisfaction to help reduce home heating costs, especially now when costs are very high, shows a complete disregard for customer satisfaction and lack of respect in general. I can only hope that this has not happened to others and if it has, I encourage you to also submit a review so people making these costly decisions will have the information to make an informed decision. One would think if someone had pride in what they do, they would do their best to be honest with their intentions to maintain integrity. If you can't commit to preforming a service, be up front and just say it. Don't waste people's time. Not like we'll ever receive an apology for their treatment of us or make efforts to rectify their neglect. Take care of yourselves.
