Koji Katsu
It’s the best! We love their food. My brother eats here all the time as he lives nearby, and we always enjoy their different varieties of Katsu. Lovely small restaurant to dine in, or well packaged for takeout to enjoy at home.

Ordered chicken katsu curry and it was delicious. Solid price for a mid-sized meal with good portions of meat and generous serving of yummy curry. Would go again!

One of my favourite places in Calgary for Japanese katsu curry. The breading on the katsu is so crispy and fresh. Their rice is perfect. But I am truly in love with their sesame dressing. It comes with the cabbage salad but I put the sauce on everything. Dipping my katsu? Sesame sauce. Mixing into my rice? Sesame sauce. Licking from my spoon? Sesame sauce. No shame.Their curry is really tasty too. Robust and nicely flavoured. The space is small so expect to wait for a table if you come during prime dining hours. Koji also does a lot of takeout.

The best katsu I have ever had! I had the classic katsu in a tenderloin! The soup was warm and excellent umami flavour. The salad was fresh! But the fried piece of pork was amazing! Incredibly crispy and flavourful on the outside and tender and soft on the inside. Amazing!

Absolutely delicious chicken! When I ordered they said 15 min, it came out in 10 and I was on my way. The guys working there were quick and friendly. I ordered the chicken Katsu with rice and cabbage, it came with miso soup too, it was about $18 if I remember correctly. The portion sizes were great. I was full after half of the food and had to save it for later. I'll definitely be back!

It's a small establishment with little seating so I ordered takeout, but one day I want to sit in and try the katsu nabe which is only available when you dine in. This time I ordered the pork katsu yakisoba! It was a ~20min wait for my order to be ready which is not bad imo, and it took me 20 mins to get home before I could eat it. The katsu retained it's crisp perfectly during that time and the sauce complemented the meat well. It came with a side of a couple pickled radishes which gave your palate a nice reset so you can continue to enjoy the strong flavours of the katsu. I wish it came with more radishes but maybe I'm biased haha I love pickled radishes. Definitely want to try more of their menu so I'll be back!EDIT: I went back to try the pork katsu nabe and it was amazing!! So flavourful and juicy, with the top side retaining a nice crisp! It didn't need any additional sauce and paired so well with the rice. I would definitely get it again.

This is to Calgary as Saku is to Vancouver. It’s by far the best katsu place I’ve eaten at in Calgary. The crust is crispy and light in the correct way- the meat is succulent, tender and juicy. To begin with, the katsu itself is really good.We ordered the Cheese Katsu (and curry) and the Mixed Katsu Gravy. The sauces were modest and well seasoned! It’s a tiny little hole in the wall but it sure pulls its weight.

Came here in December 2022: Delicious katsu and great portion sizes for the price. Tried the tonkatsu (crispy fried pork cutlet) over rice with some egg and (soy?) sauce. The tonkatsu was not too oily and fried to a perfect level. Will definitely come back to try the other dishes, especially the curry and gravy katsu dishes.

As someone who eats out around town a lot, this is one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. I have been dreaming of returning, and I find myself comparing every meal to this one. This was the benchmark of a really amazing meal. The flavour was incredible. The chicken was perfectly done, so tender with the best crisp.I highly recommend the chicken katsu nabe and chicken katsu curry. The restaurant is quite small and plain inside but that hardly matters when the food is as delicious as it is.

Koji Katsu
Koji Katsu has the quaint, Japanese hole-in-the-wall vibe with an affordable menu for all foodies. Prices are around $15-20 for a set meal. The true value is with the size of the cutlets; they are quite huge and the serving size made me order an extra bowl of rice! The Hire Katsu was more tender than the usual ones I've eaten. The breading comes off rather easily, but it's not that big of a deal. The Pork Katsu Curry lacks a bit of the punch I expect in curries and the sauce consistency was a bit watery. However, this makes it easier to mix the sauce with the rice, I guess. We also had this gyoza fried together with a web-like batter. The gyoza was pretty regular, but still a great addition. Hope these guys expand soon.
