Dr. David Y. W. Wong, B.Sc., M.D., F.R.C.P.C., F.A.P.A.

This quack cant take proper notes. I read a report he wrote about a patient that is a gross misrepresentation of the things stated during the interview of which I was in the same room as the patient while the interview was taking place so I know word for word what the patient said. In the future I STRONGLY advise Dr. Wong to use a audio recorder so he can provide a factually based report that can then be useful and helpful for each patient. Otherwise you are opening yourself up for licensing revocation and other disciplinary actions and possible lawsuits.

Dr. Wong is a competent doctor and has helped me immensely. He took his time with initial assessments and was thorough in his explanations. I found him to be a good listener and story teller and we got on well. His assistant is always kind and attentive on the phone. I would recommend Dr. Wong to anyone seeking help but I would also recommend him to anyone looking to know themselves better as well. Kind man with a solid practice.

I have been seeing Dr. Wong for 5 years and he is wonderful at his job. I love his intelligence and insight. He gets you through things without dwelling and is solution orientated. I feel like I make real progress and deal with things quickly and get over them so I can move on. I highly respect and suggest him!

Rude. He’s is extremely rude. I was referred by my family doctor and the 2 sessions I had with him were awful, leaving me in tears of frustration and wanting to hang up right off the hop. He is quick to judge and make faces, he doesn’t give you a chance to explain. He never lets you fully finish your answer without cutting you off and telling you “it’s yes or no only”. Highly don’t recommend and would spend time searching for a different psychiatrist. I am left off feeling worse and more lost then before.

I just finished my third appointment with Dr. Wong, and I won't be making another. It often felt like he was being purposely obtuse, giving curt answers and even making faces in response to my questions. Many of the other reviews here are reflective of my experience.

I’ve seen many different psychiatrists but within the span of about 5 minutes Dr. Wong decided he knew exactly what was wrong with me, and I quote: “You are entitled because people gave you accommodations, and you have developed anxiety as a result of this entitlement.” Never mind the many other medical professionals that came to different conclusions. No matter what I said, he decided that my problem was that people gave me allowances because of my mental problems which apparently don’t exist in the first place, because all the other medical professionals “aren’t trustworthy”. I would not recommend Dr. Wong, and I would suggest seeking out a psychiatrist that doesn’t have a deep mistrust of the rest of the medical community.

Referred by my family doctor. I had a horrible experience with Dr. Wong. He felt very condescending and wouldn't accept anything except yes/no answers and if I tried to explain my situation then he said I was dodging his questions. I left this meeting feeling awful. I've never had a worse experience with a medical provider.

I was referred to this Dr. Wong by my family physician. I had to go through 2 sessions with him, and always wanted to leave right in the middle of them. He uses information I have told him to repeat over and over again. I keep telling him, I was aware of everything he was saying to me but he kept treating me like a child. He seemed so set on judging me as this one person, and would not listen to anything else I said. Barely taking anything I said seriously. I had one last session with him, to go over the possibility of anxiety medication (that he suggested last session)but he was so intent on thinking I'd become some kind of addict. It was a waste of my time to try to seek help from him.

Dr. Wong seems very knowledgeable and goes into quite a bit of detail with his explanations. At the same time, he can be very hard to talk to. He seems overly pedantic and purposefully obtuse at times. It can be very hard to actually converse with him. It almost felt like I was taking some type of test. I am going to try another couple visits to see how things go, but the first visit was one of the worst I have ever had with any medical professional.

I enjoy my sessions with him. He has helped me a lot with my concerns and make sure the prescription I was given is right for me.He listens to my questions.
