Sharbot Lake Provincial Park
Beautiful park, but not too many hiking trails. Probably best for those with the boats.

Nice campground. The patrol car was out a little too often, drove by more than 5 times in a few hours which is a bit annoying but could be that they were checking for campfires during the fire ban. Make sure to check the type of campsite you’re booking. There are a few with great views but no parking on the site itself. Some sites that are up on top of a hill and you have to take steps up to it. Its right off of highway 7 which is convenient but means you can hear the highway at night. Lots of families with dogs and nice trails to hike too.

Next summer will be 36 years for me at Sharbot Lake. My grandparents started camping there in 1959 and it’s been a family tradition ever since. The lake views are stunning, campsites spacious and comfortable, and the shower house has been redone in the last few years. This place is my home away from home and I am always brought to tears after the 10 hour drive from Cleveland, Ohio when I see the sign at the entrance. To me, it is beauty, wholly unspoiled. I walk past my parents’ favorite campsite; formerly my grandparents’ (site 84) and I see myself as a child sitting on the rock near the water waiting for a cookie from Grandma. This place is love, no other word for it. I simply cannot find anywhere in the world that compares. Love this place, and if you want to feel true peace and a connection to nature, this is the place to go.

This park is located on two beautiful, clear lakes that offer great swimming, canoeing, boating and fishing. Nature trails are picturesque and offer a great variety of scenery: Discovery Trail - 1.2 km loop, 1hour, moderate. Ridgeview Trail - 0.5 km return, 30 minutes, easy to moderate. Two sandy beaches located on Black Lake are great for swimming. The majority of campsites at Sharbot Lake have vehicle access. A few sites do not have space for a on the site, however designated parking areas are just a short walk away. There are over 150 treed campsites, some with electricity and two that are barrier-free. Large trailers can be accommodated in the Beach Front and Maple Grove Campgrounds.

Lovely place. Great sites.I did go Midway through June and it is caterpillar season. They were everywhere including their poop. It was falling from the sky along with them.I would certainly go back but at a different time of the season

Well kept camp ground. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Enjoyed our stay but did not like the mosquitos, oh well they are everywhere! Nice clean showers. They have flush toilets by the showers. Vault toilets in the rest of the park. There are sectioned off swimming areas, a playground and a large picnic shelter

Lovely smallish park. The staff were very kind and the sites were beautiful. The highway is definitely audible at night, but I found it to be great white noise. Lots of birds, and good spots to fish. We'll be back!
