No free hot breakfast as advertised. Rooms were very worn, damaged furniture, paint flake, loose taps in bath. Resturant not open past 2:00 on Sunday and staff wasn't sure if it would be open on the following day for breatfast. Property grounds totally neglected, a eye sore to say the least. Asked for a government rate and they charged me more than the standard rate. Stay away from this one.

We liked that the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We were very disappointed, however, as the reason we booked with them was for the pool. The pool was disgusting!!! It was filthy!! There were hairs and dirt floating and you couldn't even see the bottom. The water was thick, cloudy, and discolored. Gross!!! What a huge disappointment

Not a great place to stay. They seemed very under staffed which made it almost impossible to get ahold of the front desk. The pool looked like dish water, our TV didn't work, the breakfast wasn't included and was awful. The maid also let herself into our room in the morning as she wasn't aware anyone was in the room.

It was bad their was no fireplace in the room they said thete was a fire place and you could barely walk in the room the bed took up the whole room. The outside walls are falling apart and it looks terrible. The pool is not even working

It was nicer than I expected. It's a relatively small hotel with character. The decor was nice, room was nice, good sized bathtub and plenty of hot water. The pool was decent, and has an attached sauna. Not the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in, but for the price, I was very pleased.

Stayed here during October 2022 for 6 days. Charged me 140.40 dollars per day and absolutely no housekeeping provided for all these days. I asked them and got strange answer that they won't provide housekeeping if you stay for 6 days. Also, breakfast or any food was not included. Cloth washing facility is chargeable too and of no use. It's horrible. No waste collection also. Had to beg for supplies everytime. Was a horrible experience. Never again. Not recommended.

After reading the reviews, I think some of them were a little unfair. The room is nice and clean although there is a musty smell in the rooms. The decor is a nice and cozy country style, which was a welcoming surprise. The staff is really nice as well. The building does need some updating and paint but feels like all part of the charm.

My second time at this hotel and both times were great experiences! Compared to some other places I’ve stayed in sydney, I’ll be staying here from now on. Staff really kind, I love the antique feel to the decor, clean rooms. I’ve had a great stay both times. I think some of the other reviews are unfair, and maybe those people should see some other hotels on the island because in my opinion, this is one of the best you’ll stay at.

First the website states that there is breakfast included and when we got there we were told that it used to be but now is not anymore". Then why don't you change that on your website? Second the bathtub was backing up dirt (just disgusting). The room does not look anything like the pictures on the website. It looks old and outdated with ratty furniture. The towels were brown in color (not white like any other hotels) and it made you wonder if they were actually properly washed and disinfected. I'm surprised that the sheets were clean. There was an old couch but not a single chair to sit. For what we paid was a total disappointment. There are much better hotels out there for the price you pay at this hotel."

Not a safe place to stay. I am a senior & was constantly harassed by noisy tenants next to my room & a few staff. One Hearthstone staff member said (we are going to bug you every single day as long as you are here). He said the same statement my first time there. Had to chase down an older staff lady for the one linen change while staying at the hotel. Room was never vacuumed during my stay. One staff member was constantly in my face. Management even had Sydney police involved in their harassment scheme. They had the cops waiting for me for some strange reason during both of my 2 month stay. Much like my first unfortunate stay at the Hearthstone Inn they once again basically followed a two month timeline of harassment & intimidation tactics forcing me into homelessness for the second time. Most astonishing was they appeared to be following similar behavior as what I experienced from staff & tenants at the previous hotel. Was it a coincidence? Not a chance. Everything was planned & calculated. Expecting the same at the next Motel. Sounded like the same manager on the phone.
