Chef Joey

We had a great time with Chef Joey making Ginger Beef, Korean Dry Ribs and Green Onion Cakes via zoom, to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Surprise! They tasted delicious!

Chef Joey did an in person cooking class for our small office, and to say we had a blast is an understatement!! Chef Joeys energy resonated with our group so well and the dishes we made were unbelievable. We selected our cuisine of choice and he came up with the rest. We made an appetizer, main and dessert and were able to control heat and learned about flavour profiles and how we can make adjustments to our dishes based on our own tastes. When it was time to dig in it was heavenly! While we were enjoying our main Chef Joey cleaned up the kitchen and left our place spotless. I would recommend Chef Joey a thousand times over! Thank you Chef Joey and Petrina!

Did the NOLA class last night and the food was amazing! Chef Joey is super fun and engaging and made sure we all knew what we were doing. Highly recommend you take one of his classes, great time and delicious recipes!

My husband and I have now done a few classes with Chef Joey, and each time we've been amazed at the meal on the other end - and that we actually cooked it. I always thought I hated duck - until I cooked it Chef Joey's way! The classes are so much fun, and a great way to spend time together, instead of just sitting on the couch watching TV.

I truly enjoyed this class as a corporate event. It must be hard leading a group of virtual home cooks of varying skill levels through a camera and maintain that level of enthusiasm. I would love to take this class in an in person setting.Chef Joey was inclusive, laid back, knowledgeable, charismatic, and entertaining. I liked that he was himself and not too serious. The format was fast paced, prep work is encouraged. The recipe was simple enough for most basic cooks, but the flare he included made it interesting for more advanced cooks, too. I would have easily cooked this recipe from a cookbook, but i did learn a few tricks that produced a higher quality end result.Print off the recipes so you can catch up if you fall behind, work in pairs if possible to be efficient, and do explore your neighbourhood grocery stores like the italian centre/H&W (in Edmonton), farmer's markets, and little ethnic stores available to you. It's more fun if you can incorporate the regional or specialty ingredients as they are listed.

Happened to be visiting friends when Chef Joeys New Orleans class was being held which made it possible to share the experience with their family. We had so much fun! Chef Joey gave us great tips, the meal was delicious we laughed a lot and his gentle kind spirit and sense of humour shows through. Thank you for a memorable evening!

Chef Joey had us prepare a Cajun meal, as a team building excercise. The meal (crab cakes, shrimp and grits, jambalaya, jalapeno bischuits and chili chocolate mouse) was absolutely fabulous, and yet it was not the best part of the evening. Chef Joey's humour and infectious laugh was the crowning jewel. If we managed to produce the Ian Dyck" of crabcakes

I thought I was well versed in Mexican cuisine, but in a full on experience, Chef Joey Zoomed us through two dishes I'd never tried before as well as a Tex Mex take on a caesar salad. Chef Joey gave easy to follow instructions with clear demonstrations and was adept at handling multiple participants in an online experience. It was a great evening for a fair price. Highly recommend!

We had a blast, Chef Joey is hilarious and does a great job at both teaching and entertaining! The pizza we made was delicious. Already making plans for more classes.

We had Chef Joey do a private cooking class for us and some of our friends and we had an awesome time! The food was delicious and lots was learned too!Our children helped make dessert (New Orleans style beignets) - and they LOVED it (the process, and the results!). Chef Joey & Petrina were engaging and helpful throughout the evening and shared stories behind some of the recipes as well. I highly reccommend you consider them for your event!
