Bad service, my ticket has a free change but it still charged me 70 cad, otherwise they won't change it for me.No more china airlines and cancel Taiwan from my tourism list

I have been flying the A350 to Asia the past few years and it is always a good experience. Infotainment, food and service has been top notch. My faith in China Airlines has further been boosted during the Covid-19 pandemic. We had flights booked to Vietnam & Japan in March 2020 and while other airlines were handing out flight credits, China Airlines promptly gave us a full refund for our cancelled flights. Highly recommended.

In Dec. 2018 I flew with China Airlines up to Manila via Taipei then onwards. Upon receiving my checked bags for self transfer in Manila (NAIA), I noticed a pouch open and checked contents. To my horror keys were gone. I immediately got the airport police, the airline manager, took pictures, filled the luggage tags for claim, filed lost item report with CAL, called their downtown Manila office(whom hung up on me and blocked my number). CAL wrote me an email that said it was a precious valuable item" and it said that on their website and that I "should read China Airlines website more carefully." CAL mailed a letter that simply said

China Airlines only flys to one city in Canada. I flew to Taipei, Taiwan from Vancouver, B.C.. There were two clerks at reception, I got the man, not the woman. I took a taxi to the building, though there is parking. The nearby hotel has a free shuttle service to Richmond's airport, which I used after visiting China Airlines. China Airlines has Taiwanese staff on their airplanes but apparently is owned by mainland Chinese. The friendliness of the Taiwanese staff made a big difference to me, often. It is a long trip to Taipei but affordable on China Airlines.
