Mountainview Cottage Resort

Stayed here with a friend 2 years ago. The lake is beautiful, the view incredible, but we must have had a bad cabin, because you could see outside through the cracks in the corners and around the windows. lots of mice inside, owner was rude, his wife was nice though.Stopped by on our way past a couple of weeks ago and thought we'd see if we could book again. The owner was absolutely intoxicated. Was belligerent and tried to start a fight with my friend. What a complete pig he is.My sympathy to his wife, if she is still with him...

Stayed at the 2 bedroom, 1 sofa bed, 1 bathroom cottage, with AC - for 7days.We had the best view and the most perfect spot for the kids to play on the sandy beach just 3 steps away from our front porch.The cottage is very outdated a.k.a rustic.The kitchen is fully equipped.If you’re not into bugs or spiders this place may not be for you, as we have encountered many large spiders inside the house, the size of a toonie. Otherwise I strongly suggest to bring bug spray, after bite, allergy medicine, and antibiotic cream.The owners are so welcoming and are one of the nicest people I’ve met.One of the things that we loved doing was Kayaking, Paddle Boarding and Canoeing - all FREE for Mountain View Resort lodgers. There are 3 water slides out on the lake for kids to use, and it is all within (approx.) 40-50ft of shallow water.I can definitely say that overall we are happy with our stay and have made great memories with our family.

Canada Day long weekend we rented 2 cottages, 12 guests.The units are rustic, perfect for us, we only used the cottage to cook and sleepMy father is 94 years old, loves fishing, he had a lovely time due to the nice beach with shallow water, he was able to move around on his own.I was able to enjoy kayaks and peddle boats without being afraid to drown because I CAN'T SWIMIf you want luxury this is not a place for you, but if you want to wake up with a view of a beautiful calm lake, enjoy a very peaceful beach, relax, this is the place.Thank you Greg and HannahWILL BE BACK SOON!!!

We stayed in the cottage closest to the boat launch. Cottage was clean and spacious. Newly updated furnace (which we didn't use because we stayed when it was still warm). Beds were comfortable, bathroom and kitchen were freshly redone.Beach is nice and sandy, water is shallow and great for small children. Owners were lovely and accommodating. The store has everything you need if you're in a pinch and can't make it into town. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a lowkey cottage getaway.

We had an awesome experience at one of the cottages at Mountain View Cottage Resort. The owner is very friendly and nice. It is a great place to relax, enjoy the beach and beautiful nature with your family and kids. I was there with my husband and 2 kids for 3 days, they had a blast of fun and wonderful experience. Will definitely return back soooon ❤️

Have been back 3 years in a row. Great location at mouth of Bonnechere River. Good fishing. Nice beach with shallow water for many feet. Cottages are rustic but provide exactly what you need for a vacation where you spend most of your time outdoors. If you're looking for luxury, this is not the place. But relaxing days and quiet nights are a guarantee!

We had a wonderful time, it was a vacation we needed after being cooped up all spring. The cottage was rustic, but clean and had everything we needed. The lake was perfect, sandy, shallow, and warm, and the kids had a blast with the kayaks and slides, and of course having a store that sold ice cream on site was a bonus.The location is great, you occasionally hear some noise from Highway 60 but it isn't loud. It is not far from activities such as whitewater rafting, hiking in Algonquin, or looking for fossils in Eganville. We look forward to returning next year.

Perfect location.The sand and water was amazing.Super shallow which was perfect for my young children. We stayed in cabin 6 which was great for myself and my 2 children located right infront of the play area for children. I loved everything about this resort. The owners are absolutely fabulous. The location again is just unreal. You get the perfect amount of sand, water, shade and it's right off the main road.

had a great stay for the week! the cottage is cozy and equipped with everything you need. it is right off the shallow sandy beach that you can walk forever on. amazing views and amazing customer service too! the staff go out of their way to make your stay perfect. hope to come back again next summer!

All the amenities at a reasonable price. Great place to unwind for the week.After spending the week here my family and I are already planning our visit for next year. Quiet lake makes for safe and enjoyable outings in the kayaks and peddle boats that are provided.Water shoes are a must, but not to worry as there are water shoes provided. The beach stretches across in front of all the cabins making water access very easy especially for those with young children.Complimentary firewood is provided. Enough for 1 or 2 days. Recommend bringing kindling or an axe for easier fire starting. Fire pits are located on the beach and offer a nice relaxing way to end the day.The cabins are not fancy 5 star hotel type, but they offer everything needed for a week away from home. The quaint cabins offer everything thing needed. Fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and bbq. Although they are run down the cabins were very comfortable.Thank you again Greg for a wonderful week.
