Nick repaired a typewriter I was given by a friend in 2019. It was already in great condition, as Nick said, examining the machine, as he affectionately refers to them. It only needed some touching up--a new ribbon, a few sticky keys, things of the sort-- and Nick had it fixed in no time. Two or three days later the machine was ready. Upon returning to the store, Nick was courteous enough to explain to me the history of the machine, its make, brand, and some little known facts I am sure now are partly lost to history due to the antique status of the technology. It was fascinating. As others have stated here, his shop is a clandestine collection of oddities and will need hours upon hours of careful observation to unlock its many secrets, however dust-laden they are, as it is apparent he has kept his treasures there for many years. I believe this may be the only business in the city or greater area servicing typewriters left. Nick charges a fair rate as well, which is not to be overshadowed by his one-of-a-kind shop. Highly recommended.

Nick was great! Keeps busy doing, what is now a lost art : repair & clean vintage typewriters. I had my parents old manual looked at and I can now display this unique & vintage piece in my office!!

Nick has serviced MANY machines from my sizable collection over the years, and I’m so happy to have them in beautiful working order. Whenever I bring a typewriter to Nick, his excitement is palpable; he loves his work! You can count on a good time touring the shop (which contains countless other vintage pieces and curios) and hearing Nick’s wonderful stories about typewriters and life in general. Thanks a million Nick!

What an amazing store, it's like a museum! I spoke with the owner for an hour about a range of topics, mostly typewriters and mechanical things and we had a great talk. Finally have a typewriter again, thanks to Nik.

This store is a gem! It is one of a kind. It is a flash back through time. There are so many things to look at and Nick can tell you stories about many of the items he has acquired over the past 18 years. Nick is a genuine person who is so knowledgeable! If you like looking at old things (antiques) and enjoy good conversation make sure to stop in and say hi! We went for a typewriter for our office and could have stayed for hours looking at everything. Awesome experience. Wish Nick all the best! Will definitely see him again (:

Nick is a fascinating human being. His work is remarkably affordable considering the effort that goes into what he does. He always seems to have a story or twelve, so don't be expecting to hop in and hop out of the place. This man has so many years of experience and is so deeply knowledgeable about his product that if you have a typewriter in need of repair you would be daft to not seek out his services.Can't recommend highly enough. Great person, great work, incredible knowledge. Take advantage of this place while you still can - today Nick was lamenting how few people want to take the trade up and how he has nobody to replace him. You'll be kicking yourself if you wait too long.

My 10 year old came to me one morning and asked to purchase a typerwriter. I kind of giggled and said I'm not even sure places like that are still around. After a quick Google search I was able to find Sigma. We popped in to have a peek and it was like walking through time. Nick had a story for every piece in his shop. He went over a few typewriters with my 10 year old, installed a new ribbon and off we went. Price was right. What a great educational experience for my son. He loves the typewriter that Nick picked out for him and uses it daily. Amazing little shop.

The gentleman who runs this shop is just the most brilliant artisan of typewriters. He fixed my 1929 Remington portable typewriter. It's working just beautifully. I hope I can keep it perfect for years to come.
