Bluewater Mediation

My partner was referred to Mr. Bennett for arbitration services in order to decide which school his children would attend (50/50 custody). The proceeding was done professionally, however we are left very confused by the decision.Although we are well established in the children’s city of origin, Mr. Bennett decided that it was in their best interests to attend a school in the area where their other parent has unilaterally moved, in a home with a six-figure construction lien and writ of sale that could disappear at any time.Very little explanation was given for this decision. We are now forced to relocate to an area where my partner’s work commute will double, and in the meantime, we are driving up to 3 hours per day to transport the children to school (while their other parent works a flexible job from home). My partner and I both work full-time.This decision was to be made irregardless of the parents' convenience - however, we feel that the issue of stability was completely overlooked and not evaluated in a logical manner.Although I appreciate that I am not a lawyer and may not fully understand the reasons behind Mr. Bennett’s decision, I think that any father who enlists Bluewater Mediation’s services should do so with caution. We do not have direct proof that Mr. Bennett’s decision was biased (in a woman's favour), but I would recommend that fathers do not take the risk.We will not be using Bluewater Mediation again when this issue inevitably comes back to the forefront in the future.
