I'm not sure why Yevgen is so highly rated to be honest. This was our first time hiring an accountant (previously had just been using Turbotax to file), because it was the first year my partner and I had a mix of both freelance and salaried income to file, and also a business account. We didn't want to miss anything and of course wanted help with reporting business expenses, etc.Everything started off fine. We had a zoom call with Yevgen and he seemed professional, was able to answer all our questions.He then sent in a questionnaire for us to fill out. This questionnaire basically included all the questions we'd previously had to fill out when using Turbotax, almost an exact match. I noticed a few things were missing from this questionnaire (contributions to RRSP, medical expenses, etc.) but I assumed maybe this was just the first client intake form and he'd prompt later for more. So we filled in the questionnaire and sent this back.We then received an email telling us our returns are ready, and we just needed to sign them so he can file. We took a look over, and there were tons of errors. My partner's T4 was somehow left out of his (how?), my RRSP contributions not included in mine (which ended up saving me thousands of dollars in taxes after finally being added), spelling errors all over with our legal names, and incorrect addresses.We bumped back with the missing and incorrect info, he corrected some of it, and sent updated files for us to sign. Still typos in names, still errors in addresses.After a few back and forths, we finally had the documents approved by us and signed off. Yevgen confirmed he had filed the docs, we paid the fee, and thought we were done.Months later, my partner received a notice from the CRA that he has not filed his business tax and was owing his return + months of interest accumulated. We went back to Yevgen and asked what happened, and he insisted he filed everything. After prompting him a few times that obviously he did not. He admitted he forgot to file, and literally blamed us for making him forget, saying that he missed it because of all the back and forth" we had with him trying to get our tax return documents correct- when he was the one missing things and making errors in the first place.He eventually double checked and filed the missing return

After I made an error on last year's tax return, I handed over my small business taxes to a professional, and Yevgen was exactly that! He was very knowledgeable about the fine details of maximizing my and my husband's tax return, and he answered all of my questions promptly and clearly.
