awful experience!!! it is my first time to take my dog here for the dog wash.Before starting the dog wash, i asked the staff about the towels, he said he was finding for us and asked us to wash our dog first. However, when we finished the dog wash , i asked the same staff who was in charge, he said there is no towels. Then i went to the counter and asked another staff, he said they did not have the towels at the moment and ask us to use the dryer directly to make our dog dry.It is not accepetable that no one tell us about towels at the very first beginning and towels should be included in their service and it is stated! My dog kept shaking when we were using the dryer to dry him as he was all wet and the dryer is not warm enough. it is very cold for him with the whole body wet.i have complaint to the staff again and they even not saying sorry for it .

CAUTIOUS if you want to go to this location for grooming!!!I took my cat to be groomed however surprisingly noticed the groomer has her big dog there, UNLEASHED. (Really small space but two large dogs as well as others three smaller dogs there)When her dog standing up and sniffing my cat, I told the groomer I was worried about my cat might be scared. She somehow became angry: “don't worry. That is my dog. I know my dog. She's not gonna EAT your cat.”I explained to her that I am not worried if my cat will be eaten. I was simply worried about my cat will be scared. However, she became even angrier ~ it’s like I have offended her by telling her that my cat might be scared by her unleashed big dog.After asked me to come back in 1.5 hours and shut the door, I decided to take my cat home without grooming. I don’t feel comfortable leaving my cat there for about one hour and a half with that angry groomer. I will never go back there for grooming.

My morkie, Cleo, hates to have her nails clipped. I informed the groomer that she had a terrible grooming experience at Petsmart (please see my review) that left her scarred. Both times I have brought her to Pet Valu to get her nails trimmed, the groomers were patient and professional and did a wonderful job. I highly recommend.

Out of all the pet valu stores, this location was one of my favourites to shop at. I've always had a good experience with the staff and I enjoyed how well kept and fully stocked it was. But I'm pretty disappointed that I keep leaving the store annoyed and frustrated these days, just because of one of the female cashiers. I'm confused if her attitude is always rude and stuck up, or if she just has a bad day every time I visit, but I don't understand why she would work in customer service and give off bad vibes when a customer needs help or has an inquiry? As much as I want to keep supporting this store, it's unfortunate how one bad apple can make a simple visit to the pet store a grueling experience.

We mainly come to use the self serve dog wash. Shampoo, conditioner, towels, treats, aprons and blow dryer are all included with the wash in a raised tub for your dogs! It's way easier than using our own tub and cleaning it later. It can get busy, so I'd recommend calling ahead to see what the wait is like. Weekdays are slower ☺️

I had the pleasure of working with Julius at Pet Valu and I couldn’t be happier with the service he provided. Julius is an excellent employee who is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. He took the time to understand my pet’s needs and recommended the best products for them. He also provided me with valuable advice on pet care that helped me take better care of my furry friend. Julius is always punctual, professional, and enthusiastic about his work. He goes above and beyond to ensure that his customers are satisfied with their purchases. I highly recommend Julius to anyone looking for a pet store employee who truly cares about their pets.

I don’t normally write reviews unless it was a terrible experience. But with Jenna, she was beyond amazing, knowledgeable and provided such great service that this review is warranted. She was very patient while I explained the needs of my pets while recommending the best and valuable products for them. I don’t normally shop at this location as I am unfamiliar with it, but Jenna made sure I felt very welcomed. I hope her managers see this as she deserves a raise for her exceptional service and attitude! I will definitely be shopping at this location from now on!

Great selection of dog fashion / clothing. They seem to have every dog and cat food brands you can think of, and good selection of frozen raw food. The self service dog wash charges a reasonable $10. The grooming service seem very thorough and they really seem to care about the welfare of the animals. Location and parking is very convenient also.

I went in on March 12 to buy some food for my cat and sign my mom up for senior discount. This was harder than I thought because we had to sign her up for a new account and get a little attitude from Jonathan. Not sure why. He wasn't even the associate that helped sign her up.The cashier who actually helped me was nice and helpful. After signing my mom up for an account, she asked if I'd like a small paper bag for a small stick treat. Makes sense, it won't snap or crumble in my purse so I said yes please. Then I hear a whisper behind her from Jonathan why does she need a paper bag for a small stick treat?".Bad vibes. Guess he's having a bad day = I guess I'll have a bad experience."

CAUTION: DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG TO BE WASHED/GROOMED HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!!!I was picking up some food for my cat and walked by the dog washing station - and to my horror - witnessed the dog that was being washed, WHIPPED and HIT by the employee washing him. He was obviously scared and in pain, and was barking like crazy. I truly could not believe my eyes at what I just witnessed.I immediately notified the employees at the cash in front of the store and they dismissed the incident and advised that the employee hitting the dog was the STORE OWNER!!!!!Please, if you value your pets safety, do not under any circumstances bring them for a wash at the Pet Valu on Highway 7 in Markham. It truly broke my heart to see the dog scared and suffering. This IS UNACCEPTABLE and I will be sure to contact your corporate headquarters to advise them of the mistreatment of animals taking place here. Frankly, I would not spend a penny at this location and would encourage others to do the same.
