I want to share my unpleasant experience with a travel agent (Eleonora) that I decided to use for a recent trip to Croatia. Everything started off just fine and the agent was to charge my credit card $900 for the deposits for 3 tickets, the full balance was due several months later. Instead of charging the deposit, she charged the full amount of the tickets on my credit card which has a small limit and this resulted in an NSF fee. Ok, talked to the agent about this and she agreed to deduct the NSF fee from the final payment. When it came time to pay the final balance, I called to arrange this at which time she proceeded to tell me that she had the choice between pre-selecting seats for us on the flight vs. having luggage included and she took it upon herself to make the decision for us to include the seats. I was bewildered by this audacity as this should have been discussed with us yet the agent proceeded to tell me that flights to Europe in summer are full and she did not think I wanted to be separated from my child on a 10 hour flight! Basically made it sound like she did me an enormous favor! So we had to pay an extra $120 for the luggage. Ok, I agreed to that but decided to double check. As it turned out, the luggage was already included with our tickets so I called back puzzled trying to find out what I just paid $120 for. She said well it was a choice for one over the other so we got the pre-selected seats for $120. Called back the airline, guess what! The seats were also included in our tickets (just so you know, seating together for families traveling with kids is now standard, nobody is getting separated). When I questioned this agent, she became increasingly irate to the point of yelling at me and proceeded to tell me that she was working for free at this point! Excuse me!? Whose fault is it that you can’t do your own job properly and now have to work for free. Also, what did she try to charge me the extra $120 for? Maybe a made up fee that she could later put into her own pocket? My point is, please always double check in terms of what you are being told, there are so many liars and scammers out there. And as for the travel agent, your customers are not stupid and they will find out. Do yourself a favor and conduct business in an honest and respectable manner, maybe then you will retain some clients.

Ellen is absolutely the best, I received a call from her at 9pm on a Sunday night when a flight I was supposed to be on was cancelled. What more can you ask for?
