Fairmont Hotel Macdonald

We shot plenty of weddings at the Fairmont hotel MacDonald. It was a great experience each time.The hotel has Great historic old world charm, The common space is stunning, with an unbelievable courtyard and an amazing view of the river valley below. The staff are courteous, welcoming. We would highly recommend this place for any kind of events., especially for grand Indian Weddings.

Went for Sunday Afternoon Tea. Each person got their choice of loose leaf tea, one scone, several tiny sandwiches, several tiny pieces of dessert. Everything tasted good. Very expensive for what you get. The service was very good, as it should be. The building itself is run down.

Alright I’ll start with the positives. The hotel common space is stunning, with an unbelievable courtyard and an amazing view of the river valley below. The staff are courteous, welcoming, and I was even upgraded from a city view to a river view room! But then the negatives… the rooms are small, which I expected at a historic hotel. What I didn’t expect was a bed that shook wildly if my wife so much as moved an arm. The pillows were hard and too thick. They have bright green lights the shine on the building all night, so we couldn’t enjoy the evening views from our room as the blinds had to be closed to keep out the eerie green light. The bathtub is so old the finish is gone from the bottom, and the drain is slow so I had to stand in a puddle while I showered. There was no bedside table on my side of the bed, and no nearby outlets to charge devices.For such an iconic brand, I expected the quality to be much better. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it.

This is a beautiful hotel! Love the old and classic style of the Fairmont. Our rooms were clean and spacious which was a nice change from some of the other hotels we stayed at on our trip. Perfect if you have a travel crib! There was also a nice seating space in the deluxe double which was good for eating. We got in-room service and the food was fantastic and the staff who helped us was so attentive and kind. She also called to follow up on how we enjoyed it.One area that we were disappointed with was that there was no anti-slip mat for the bath and they were very slippery! We did bathe the kids while there and it was a beautiful deep tub but without the mat it posed a hazard.It’s also disappointing that you pay so much for rooms and then have to pay so much to enjoy the dining. The in-room was reasonable but the brunch buffet on the weekends seems a bit overpriced for adults. It is nice that kids are free though.

I stayed at this fabulously elegant hotel for a wedding. I used the valet service which was really nice. The rooms are comfortable and the view over the river valley was spectacular. A nice way to treat yourself if you require a hotel.

Nice lobby, great staff. Receptionist was great.Bedroom as described below. Basically loud room even though I had asked for a quiet one as we were there to celebrate a 50th birthday. The acoustics were horrible and it made for a very long sleepless night. Worst part of our celebration.

I recently visited the Fairmont hotel and wanted to share my experience. While the hotel had a nice ambience, there were a few aspects that left me disappointed. Firstly, I was served a drink in a tall tower, which seemed out of place for a classy establishment. Additionally, the drink lacked the alcoholic kick I expected. I had four full glasses of it and didn't feel anything.Moving on to the food, we ordered the room service lobster. Unfortunately, the rice it was served on had no flavor whatsoever, which greatly detracted from the overall taste of the dish. This was quite disappointing, considering the reputation of the hotel.Despite the pleasant atmosphere, the underwhelming quality of both the food and the drinks left me dissatisfied. I hope the Fairmont takes these points into consideration and makes improvements to ensure a more enjoyable experience for future guests.
