Pros: It's a really handy shop, prices are often decent, well stocked, hours later in the week are great. A land mark for the Main from back in the days before it was hipster central and then club-bunny hell. Been going here since i moved to Montreal in '97 and lived around the corner. Shops like it are surprisingly not so common in the plateau, only a handful of general stores like it and a lot of them are not as affordable, more posh.Cons: Have had some problems with things bought there, like a generic salt/pepper shaker the lid would not stay on. So be aware and test things if you can before paying. It's not exactly the norm but it's not like everything they sell is perfect. And if you have a problem then you might have a problem. The owner operators are biggest negative. They are not great about returns if you do have a problem with something you bought even with receipts. They tend to often be in what seems like a harried if not bad mood, have frankly bad attitudes towards costumers if they have anything other than praise for them, impatient, and seem often put out to be there. Which is too bad. Be a fantastic shop if not for this.

Family-run business where they are happy to serve. I had an issue with one of the parts of a coffee grinder and got it replaced on the spot. Curiously, the shop also sells a good selection of curry spices.
