Unfortunately one star only for her kind and responsive assistant. Besides the initial submission of my incomplete file (you’d expect your lawyer to know all the required documents and submit a complete file), nothing else was done by them. I had to follow up myself and find out some documents were missing one-by-one, delaying my application for months. Her assistant helped via phone and email to prepare and submit the missing documents. At one instance, she also dropped off one document. This was in addition to the fact that she had told me the processing time was half of what it actually took and after I had paid and everything was done, she told me that actually lately it has been taking longer (misinformation). When I wanted to follow up, she told me there is nothing we can do until I insisted then she gave me a phone number after 1-2 months to follow up myself. My follow ups were helpful in fact and I don’t know how much longer it would have taken if I hadn’t followed up. So if you expect your lawyer to do most of the work and ensure your file is complete before submission, you might not get it here. In my case, her service fee was somewhat better than others at the time though (maybe a few hundreds of dollars). However, the service I received from her was actually worth perhaps, to put it kindly, 1/5th of what I actually paid. I wish I had better things to say but unfortunately I had a bad experience.

I did not have a good experience with Ms. Riahi’s legal services.She made a grave mistake in my file that had drastic effect on me. She entered a clause in my file that was not part of what we had asked her. It is true that the clients must make sure of the accuracy of the documents, but we (non-lawyers) are normally not competent enough to read the legal documents correctly and this is the main reason that we obtain a Lawyer’s services. Furthermore, we (Iranians) sometimes obtain Farsi speaking lawyer’s services, so that they can correctly interpret our needs from Farsi in to the legal language. Sometimes clients need additional support during the hard process that they are going through and a good lawyer should make sure the client’s needs are accurately inscribed.In my case, when we noticed the mistake in our file and contacted Ms. Riahi, not only she didn’t help, sympathized or even acknowledged but also asked for additional unnecessary cost, to do unnecessary review, and resulted in several weeks of very hard mental stress on me.I think anyone that intends to user Ms. Riahi’s services, must accept that after the payment has been made to her office, it will be difficult to get any support, if you have questions or, more importantly, in case a mistake has happened in your file. I would suggest that you read the legal document that she has produced very carefully, and not assume any special treatment in relation to you not being native speaker, and to warn you clearly about the consequences of each clause.I would have not used her services if I had this experience or was warned about it beforehand. Having a good lawyer can make drastic effect on your life and future.
