Mending Spirits Animal Rescue

This was mine and my husbands first time adopting a dog. We have a dog and a cat at home, but knew this time we wanted to adopt a dog that needed saving. Come to find out, Monroe (who we renamed Charlie) saved us. Mending Spirits did an absolutely WONDERFUL job! The application process was very thorough, which I loved, then we drove down (6 hours one way!) with our current dog, to meet Charlie. Charlie's foster mom was such an amazing person! She worked so hard on helping him to become the dog that we love and as for us and Charlie, it was an instant match.What this animal rescue does, is such an amazing thing. They foster out all of their animals, so they don't have to sit in a cage for most of the day. They are loved from the moment that they are rescued, until the find their perfect home, and then they are loved even more! I cannot say enough kind words about Mending Spirits.

Went through the application process and was denied. Never gave a reason and never returned my calls/emails after asking what about my home environment was unacceptable to their standards. Have been with several agencies that have accepted me in the past so just wondering why this group doesn't think I'm a suitable owner. The phone number provided doesn't ever pick up as they don't have a home office, they have no hours of operations either, and are not ample about responding via email (the only form they respond when they feel like it) in a timely manner.

We are so thankful to the angels at mending spirits who took in treated and brought sweet Pepper to Minnesota so we could be her fur-ever home.

Responsive to my initial inquiry, guick to get my app processed, home visit, payment and signatures. Foster shiela is great. I think I sent her too many follow up pics! Poor baby, now named Eva, was so scared, she wouldn't even stand up for 2 days. If I had known who she came from... I'd prob be in jail for assault. MUCH preferred to Small Dogs Rescue of MN, who I fostered for and were very unprofessional. I plan on volunteering for mending spirits.

My family recently adopted a ferret through Mending Spirits. They are quick to respond to questions and completely honest/transparent in known history and health of the animals in their care. The foster mom was amazing in her efforts to work with our schedule so that we could meet and adopt our new fur baby! These are people who sincerely want to find great, loving homes for all the animals who find themselves in this rescue.

I cannot say enough good things about this organization. We adopted our cat from them 2 years ago and he is amazing. I love the foster based environment because you get more background on the animal and their personality than a regular shelter. The foster family was warm, friendly and flexible with visiting dates and times and also at pick up. I have sent updates to his foster mom so she knows he went to a good home and she is so appreciative every time I reach out. I have since moved away from the area but will definitely look to them first when we are ready to adopt another animal.

Our experience with Mending Spirits Animal Rescue was nothing short of amazing! We had been looking for the right dog for our family for months. Timing had not worked out well with the search until we began working with Mending Spirits Animal Rescue. The organization is filled with kind, attentive and efficient volunteers that made our experience just perfect. From the initial correspondence, we were greeted immediately with a response of inquiry receipt to an introduction to the foster family within a day. The entire process happened very quickly from the first visit, to completing the forms, to picking up our new dog; Johnny. I would recommend Mending Spirits Animal Rescue wholeheartedly.
