Wildcard Stables

Great barn, amazing people and a beautiful home for my horse. Started trail riding here just last Fall and loved it so much I got a Midas :) Amazing trails!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Wild Card Stables, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, the stable owner, Ellisa, greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. Her friendly and helpful nature set the tone for the entire visit.One of the first things that struck me about Wild Card Stables was the size of the facility. The stables were spacious and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and safe environment for the horses. Speaking of horses, I was amazed to learn that they had over 50 of them! It's clear that they take great care in curating a diverse and impressive collection of horses.During our visit, we had the pleasure of taking our first riding lesson with Catherin, one of the knowledgeable and patient instructors at the stables. She was fantastic at teaching us the basics and making us feel confident in the saddle. It was evident that the staff at Wild Card Stables are not only passionate about horses but also dedicated to ensuring a positive experience for their visitors.We decided to rent three horses for the day: Kirisma, Pooka, and Onyx. These horses were incredibly well-trained and responsive to our commands. It was evident that Wild Card Stables takes great pride in the quality and training of their horses. Riding them was an absolute delight.If you happen to visit Wild Card Stables during the summer, you're in for a treat. They organize a fantastic event called the Wild West Weekend competition. This event is filled with exciting activities such as cattle sorting, music, food, games, bonfires, and trail rides. One of the highlights of the competition is the Dress for the West" contest

Fantastic place for trail rides! It’s right across the street from the beautiful York Regional Forest which makes the location perfect. The horses are well cared for and Elisa does a great job ensuring that everyone remains safe while having an enjoyable experience on horseback. With trots and canters, it’s definitely more exciting than the usual boring trail rides offered by most other stables! Highly recommended.

I've been part boarding at Wildcard for 2 months, and it's been a great experience. Long time riders know how hard it is to find a barn with a good atmosphere, and Wildcard definitely has that with lots of passionate but laid-back people. The horses are all really well-mannered and you get to ride a big variety of horses when you part-board. They're right across the street from a huge trail system, which is a fun time for all levels of riders. I've brought a couple of beginner riders by and it was a great experience for them, Elisa really takes the time with each rider to make sure they learn from the experience and are safe. Plus, they have a gorgeous foal at the barn right now!

I came here with my family for a trail ride and I loved this stable!They put much efforts on teaching you how to ride properly. Even in trail ride you will learn how to ride better. Elissa is a good instructor! She is proffesional, sincere, straightforward and cares about her horses and your riding as well. If you looking for sugar coated guide, it's not here. Here you actually learn. I enjoyed it very much! Thank you, Elissa.

I’ve been a part of the Wildcard community since December 2020. I started out part-boarding & it is different here compared to other stables I’ve tried. I was told that the way to become a really good rider is by riding different horses, which is what you get to do when you part-board. I learned EVERYTHING I know here & I advanced quickly to become a much better rider than I ever was, enough to have my own horse & know what to do. The community here is so supportive & so much fun & the forest trail system is something you’ll never get tired of riding all year long. Elisa has become a mentor to me. She emphasizes safety on trail & the trail itself is a learning experience. This is not the kind of trail on an open field, this is a forest of diverse terrain. If you are the kind of person whose ego gets hurt easily, sensitive, or takes things personally, then you may not appreciate Elisa’s straightforwardness. However, if you want to learn & be hands on, you couldn’t be at a better place. Today, I own & board my horse here & I’m thankful for this barn & the long lasting friendships I’ve made here.
