Went there to inquire about a grooming appointment and the woman was very rude and dismissive. I did not feel welcomed at all and will definitely NOT be bringing my cat here. Do not recommend.

Leslie and her team are the most compassionate, kind, and knowledgeable vets I've ever been to. Having a sick furry family member is hard enough, but in the pandemic, things are even harder. I feel that the folks here understood that. I took my sweet elderly Chi there a couple weeks ago when she suddenly started bloating. On the day that I called, they made room to see Chi that day, and even called another vet to operate to deal with regular appointments the next day while Leslie focused on emergency surgery to remove a tumour on her kidney that was unfortunately causing internal bleeding. I will definitely bring my future fur siblings here.

*Updated ratings to reflect management response and processes to address the underlying problem. I am appreciative of the positive response and the effort the staff has taken.I have been a customer for about 10 years and lately have noticed a change in the staff. Several times, when my wife has had to interact with the staff, she was dismissed rudely or asked to call (and the line is always busy). When an appointment was booked, we still had to wait over an hour in the car. I understand that these are trying times, but that doesn't mean we should accept this type of customer treatment. If this doesn't change, we will be looking for another place. Management, please take note.

I have been going to Village Animal Clinic for 16 years. Dr. Brangers is one of the finest vets I have ever had to care for my pets. She has been a God send when I've been faced with tough decisions. Her loving attention to transition my beloved golden retriever from this world to the next was a true testimony to her ability to care for pets through their entire life. Her staff are wonderful, caring people who love animals and dedicated to their best care. I cannot say enough good things about this clinic. They are AWESOME! Thank you everyone at Village Animal Clinic!!!!

I was really happy at first with this clinic , they were so patient and caring with my dog when we brought him in . It wasn’t until last year , we realized they double dosed my dog on his rabies when he didn’t even need it and we were charged for it which was upsetting when we realized it . After I called if I could have my file transferred over to another clinic that was more convenient in for me in terms of their hours of operation , the receptionist was rude and cut me off and hung up after they said they sent it my file over this morning , while I was in the middle of asking a question .Kinda glad I changed if that’s how I’m gonna be treated in the end .

In short, they saved my cats life!!!! She went in for a routine spay for an adult cat, which was very difficult to find a vet to take it on as my cat is 9 years old. They were kind and accepting to our situation. When in surgery, it quickly became an emergent situation as Dr Brangers noticed my cat had an infection in her uterus, where she showed no outward symptoms. They were able to remove her entire reproductive organs safety without rupture, keeping my baby safe and healthy. They saved her life and even charged us less than the usual emergency surgery cost. I cried for hours. I could not be more thankful for Dr Brangers and her team. They invited us back for 2 free of charge check ups as well. I don’t even live in Markham, but after calling many many vets to book an adult spay, their kindness and acceptance brought us to them which ultimately saved her life. I HIGHLY recommend Village Animal Clinic for anyone in the GTA.

My 7 month old dog ate something a week ago and it resulted in an intestinal blockage. Friday night he seemed normal; eating, playing, doing his business and receptive to obedience training. Saturday morning around 5 AM he began to vomit. Shortly after, he started having episodes of vomiting in 3 hour intervals. He started becoming lethargic, refusing food and only drink water only for it come back up again. Multiple vomiting episodes is not normal and already a red flag, but I opted to wait a little longer and monitor his condition. Between 4-9 PM he did not vomit once, but was still a bit lethargic. I thought his condition was improving but shortly after, he began vomiting again. This is when I knew he needed to be seen by a Vet immediately.10 PM he was admitted to the 24/h clinic in Scarborough, TVEH. They took me in and after a fair wait, he was admitted for X-Rays. The results showed that he may have something in his intestines causing a blockage. Obviously, this is a serious issue. The Vet at TVEH advised that although the X-Ray seemed like there is a blockage, they cannot be certain at that time. I was advised to either bring him home and monitor closely, or have him stay overnight. Seeing as his examination showed that he was stable and his vomiting had stopped again, I opted to bring him home and monitor closely. We got home around 2 AM Sunday morning. That night, he slept in my room so that I can be close to him. He slept well and did not vomit once all night.Sunday during the afternoon, his condition slowly became worse. much more lethargic, less receptive and still not eating, but now he also would not drink. Around 1 PM, I took him back to TVEH for a follow up. Interestingly enough, when in the car and at TVEH, his energy levels increased significantly. TVEH staff checked him again and concluded that he would need an MRI to proceed further as his condition has not improved. Unfortunately, TVEH did not have the capacity to perform this at that time or a surgery if need, and I was advised to return Monday morning. His condition became even worse at home and this is when I became VERY concerned. I frantically called every vet and emergency clinic in the GTA but none would be able to admit him for a procedure as they were all booked, or they did not have enough techs on hand. This left me stranded all night worried about my puppy. I chose not sleep that night and stay by his side to watch him very closely. I gave him 40 ml of Pedialyte every hour for rehydration and a bit of 100% pumpkin puree to help give his stomach something to settle on. Time moved the slowest between the hours of 6 - 8 AM of Monday morning. At 9 AM on Monday, when Village Animal Clinic opened, I brought him in and told front desk staff the situation (this is my dog's vet, for the record). They had already received the documents from TVEH and were aware of the situation as soon as I got in the door. Although I was told that they were completely booked for the day, the front desk staff got the attention of the Vets and they took him in immediately. After an assessment, I consented to their care. Throughout the day, the staff called to give me updates on his condition, next steps, possible outcomes, risks and solutions. He ended up needing surgery to remove the blockage from his small intestines. A part of his intestine also needed to be removed as it posed a risk of rupturing. I continued to receive update calls throughout the day.The way they communicated with me with a positive tone of voice, transparency and professionalism indicated to me that they genuinely care and share my same concerns. The experience is MUCH different than at other vets. They were even sympathetic to my financial needs and stayed open late so that I could pick him up after work. The surgery was a success and he is currently recovering. For the record, I am the type of person that will research a chair for an entire week before I buy one, and it was no different for my Vet. I chose Village Animal Clinic based on my findings and I am pleased I did.
