Crow's Nest Hillsburn - Shore Road Seafood
I've been frequenting the Crow's Nest for many years. If you want a homey restaurant with excellent seafood, this is it. My favourites are the fish and chips [English style batter] and the seafood chowder never disappoints. If you order the fish & chips, I recommend the one piece. Although, you can always take the second piece to go. There is also a take-out window and picnic tables overlooking the water. Great spot for a summer lunch or dinner. The staff are very nice, too!Very busy in the summer. You may want to eat a little early or late to avoid the crowds.

TERRIBLE food. Quality is very low.Scallops and lobster were not really fresh. Can’t understand why because it’s easy to get fresh see foods in these places around. We were very DISAPPOINTED to waste our time and pay for nothing. And French fries was also ugly. Roasted in old oil a few days ago or maybe a week.

We have been to the Crows Nest several times over the years now and always looked forward to going. However the latest experience over the weekend has left us having mixed feelings about the place and I’ll explain why.Basically the quality of the food is good but the quantity you get is lacking considering what you pay. For example a bowl of Chowder and 1/2 a sandwich is $25, the fact that ‘soup and sandwich’ doesn’t even include a full sandwich tells me the place is cutting corners on the menu any way they can. Also one of our items was the Scallop appetizer @ $18, the menu shows 6 respectable looking Scallops but what came out of the kitchen were mini Scallops each about the size of a quarter. While I am certainly not a Scallop expert these were by far the tiniest Scallops I have ever seen served as a stand-alone item anywhere. In a chowder they would have been ok but on a platter they were down right disappointing and no where near worth it. Other items we had seem to go heavy on the Potato filler and light on the seafood, something that discerning customers easily pick up on.All in all we will think twice before going back again, the atmosphere is good and the people are very nice. However when walking out the door having shelled out the better part of $100 all in on lunch for two there is no way you should be leaving having any semblance of the impression that the portions have been cheaped out on.There comes a point where the scales get tipped so far that you just say no it’s not worth it anymore.

Our son recommended the Crow's Nest in Digby, however we were closer to this location so we stopped in for lunch. We were greeted by very friendly staff, who provided the best of service. The ambiance was warm and very quaint. The food was very delicious and reasonably priced. We couldn't decide between the fish and chips or the seafood chowder, so we took the chowder to go. We will definitely come here again.

It may not look much from the front and the parking lot is busy but inside it sits a fair amount of people and there is a patio. Staff were very friendly and working hard. Service was quick, I had lobster for the first time since I was a kid (40+ years ago and I didn't like it much then). But I figured I owed it to myself to try it again especially here in Nova Scotia. Wasn't sure I would enjoy it cold so I went for the hot sandwich. The young man suggested white bread so it didn't compete with the lobster. Good choice, very flavourful and the cream sauce it was in was also delicious. Homemade fries were excellent. Washed down with some Keith's IPA. Hubby had the scallops 3 ways and said they were really good. Sadly too full for dessert but they sounded good. A very extensive menu. Price was good too, Left thoroughly satisfied.

I was very disappointed with the haddock as it was dry, obviously frozen not fresh. Clams were good but small and very few of them. Over all a meal that cost $23 was just not worth it. I’ve always had lovely meals here so it was a bit of a surprise. I will ask questions next time if we go back.

Amazing amazing seafood, very reasonable prices, great decoration and very clean fascilities. A gem hidden away. We had the seafood platter which was super delicious with fresh cut home fries, the lobster club sandwich loaded with succulent lobster meat, the cup of chowder which was loaded and tasted so good that the cup of it alone was worth eating here. If there is a bad review forget about it as I can testify the best seafood I had period.

An eclectic small restaurant on the Bay of Fundy near Annapolis Royal. It was very busy on a Tuesday night and I suggest that you make reservations. The lobster roll came with home cut fries and was very good. The lobster salad was also delicious and included lobster, lettuce, peppers, cucumber, onions and bacon mixed with any kind of dressing you want. We ended the meal with coconut cream pie and orange pineapple icecream. Very enjoyable.

The quality of this restaurant has dramatically worsened. We used to LOVE this restaurant and make a yearly special trip to visit for the great food but wow have times changed at their restaurant.$90 dollar bill for bland chowder where they don't serve a full lobster claw on top anymore and the portion size has decreased in half.My Fiance ordered a Lobster roll which turned to be a full plate of fries and an under filled Wonder" hot dog bun.And for my order I paid for the extra shrimp on my platter which never arrived. We would love to return to their restaurant in the future if their standards were to return to where it was"

The Crow's Nest is one of our favourite places to go on a date or to bring friends who are visiting the province. The food is ALWAYS fresh, prepared with care and absolutely delicious. The portions are massive and the quality of the seafood can't be beat. The service is friendly, knowledgable and extremely efficient. The scallops are always cooked perfectly, the pan-friend haddock is one of the best pieces of fish you can get in the whole area.We love the gentleman server who always makes our visits feel like having supper with a good friend.
