Dr. G. Vrabec

My experience with Dr Vrabec in dealing with a recent cancer scare has been nothing but positive. Yes, he is very busy and doesn't have time for a lot of idle chat, but in terms of how he addressed my very concerning situation, I couldn't be happier. His staff work hard to manage his busy schedule and will always advise if he is running behind, if you take the time to call ahead.

Such a good doctor! Yes, the wait time is long, but both receptionists kept me updated on wait times throughout the morning until it was okay for me to come in when there were only two more patients left ahead of me. So, even though my appointment was for 10 and I didn’t get in until noon, I was kept well informed of the wait time and updated regularly. When I finally went in, I waited less than 5 minutes in the waiting room before being called back, and then I waited less than 5 minutes for Dr. V. to actually come in! He was such a good doctor! Very thorough and very knowledgeable and did not rush at all. If you’ve got time to go and see him, it is definitely worth the wait! Receptionists were also both great and very professional!

zero stars. Staff is rude, Dr Vabrec is over booked all the time so expect long waits and rude service. The Dr is well practiced in his routine, speaks like a robot and is too quick to get you out of his room, probably because his waiting room is packed full of people who need help. I would look else where for a good physician. This guy needs to cut his business in half and stop booking appointments on his on call days.

Made an appointment over a year ago to have a vasectomy done was told I would have to wait till October 2023 at the time its was an 18 month wait, just got a call today that they had to push my CONSULT back I didn't book a consult I booked the procedure. I was than also told that the procedure would be 2-3 YEARS after the consult... I'll go somewhere else, you can't run fast enough to stay away from this office

Dr. Vrabec, among others, saved my wife's life. For this alone I will be eternally grateful.She was diagnosed with stage four Wilms Tumor and thanks to his team she is still alive today.

Dr Vrabec is a talented surgeon and exceptional doctor. He treated my dads bladder cancer and performed his very complicated stoma surgery. Is he crazy busy, yup, cause he is good. I think people are being referred to him for things they really shouldn't be referred to him for, hence the busyness. Or perhaps it is because he is in emergency surgery etc. People need to realize that sometimes there are people in more need than yourself. If you have a life or death situation or a complicated surgery, you'd want him. Does he have the best bedside manner, probably not, but if I want someone to save my life I don't need them to wipe my tears.

Botched surgery led to 3 corrective surgeries by competent urologist at VGH/UBC and now permanent catheterization ... appeared unconcerned and walked away from his mistake

The relief being able to have no pain on a daily basis is well worth the long wait. Where there was once pain a week ago, there is now a cooling sensation and relief. The surgery worked flawlessly. Thank you Dr. Vrabec!

Receptionist are very rude here and Dr.Vrabec himself doesn’t take things serious my issue was not taken serious at all by him & was very rushy when I called after waiting for this appointment for 8 months was a 2 min phone call because it had to be. Call ended by him saying so have that ok and click it hung up very unprofessional I had more questions I wanted to asked so called back and they said you will have to re book a appointment and could take 3 months I said but I was just speaking with him and it hung up? They replied that’s the way it works I rarley leave reviews unless needed and I feel this should be shared for anyone thinking of going here

No concern at all for holistic care. Left me feeling like every time I had a concern I was bothering him, or he had something better to do. Finally botched part of the surgery. I know because I married a physician with surgical experience. What he did to me was no oversight or accident.Stay away from him or his knife.
